Colby’s arm trembled from the intense pain. A quick glance told him the blood was already turning dark.

“Colby, get your woman in line. If she keeps defying Elodie, I’ll kill her,” Griffin said, his tone chillingly calm, like killing was as simple as slicing meat.

The toxin in Colby’s arm was already causing nerve paralysis.

“Or maybe I’ll just deal with you now and then take care of Sophie and your friends. Save me a lot of hassle.”

Hearing Griffin threaten Sophie, a cold fury flashed in Colby’s eyes. He tried to push himself up but ended up coughing up a mouthful of blood.

Griffin walked over, his knife catching the light in a menacing gleam.

“Wait a minute!” Odie frowned. “You said you wanted to talk to Colby. I gave you that chance! Killing someone here complicates things for me.”

“That’s your problem,” Griffin said, glancing at Colby, who was half-kneeling on the ground. “Don’t worry. Your friends and your woman will join you soon enough.”

“Griffin! What do you mean?” Odie grabbed Griffin’s arm, eyes flashing with anger. “Have you already gone after Sophie and the others?”

“Let go!” Griffin easily shook off Odie. Just as he was about to strike, a swarm of bodyguards rushed in.

Sophie walked in, her eyes immediately landing on Colby, who was on the ground, covered in cold sweat. Her gaze then shifted to Griffin, filled with fury. “Arrest him!”

Griffin didn’t respond, nor did he release Jenna.

Sophie’s voice turned icy. “Do you realize what you’ve done? You’ve angered me. When we get back to Devonport, I won’t reconcile with Elodie. Whatever she wants, I’ll destroy it.”

“Is that so?” Griffin pushed the knife closer to Jenna’s neck. “Do you really not care if your best friend dies right in front of you?”

“Sophie…”

Jenna looked desperate, but in the next moment, Griffin felt a sharp pain in his abdomen. Jenna grabbed his wrist and threw him over her shoulder.

Griffin grunted in pain. Jenna, furious, kicked him in the chest. “You poisoned my brother? And you dare take me hostage? You really thought I’m too weak to defend myself? I’ll kill you!”
