"Boss, Sophie and Colby are newlyweds. It's only natural she'd be protective. Besides, this mess wasn’t really your doing… Griffin’s the one who used you to hurt Colby, driving a wedge between the two of you."

Odie nodded in agreement but then quickly snapped, "Hold up! What kind of relationship do Colby and I have that Griffin needs to mess with? If you can’t make sense, just shut up!"

Fed up with Sophie’s meddling, Odie’s frustration peaked. "Get out of my sight!"

"Wait! Come back!" Odie ordered, "Post someone at the hospital. The moment Colby wakes up, I want to know. I’m not taking the fall for this!"

"It was an oversight." Worried Sophie might not believe him, Colby stretched out his hand. "I swear!"

He truly hadn’t expected Griffin to appear out of nowhere, causing him a moment of distraction. Besides, when the three of them worked as enforcers for the White family, Griffin’s skills were no less than his. Their confrontations were always a matter of inches, but those inches could mean life or death in a critical moment.
