"Yes, Ms. Sophie." Sophie hung up the phone with a click.

Since Elodie decided to mess with Colby, she shouldn't blame Sophie for playing hardball.

"What are you sneaking around in the kitchen for?"

Odie's voice suddenly broke the silence, making Sophie jump. She spun around to see him standing there. "Mr. Odie, do you always sneak up on people like that?"

"I just came to grab a bite. Who knew you'd be here on the phone?"

Odie walked into the kitchen, heading straight for the fridge and pulling out a pack of instant noodles. Sophie frowned at the sight.

"Don't you have a chef?"

Odie glanced at the clock on the wall. "It's late. The chef's long gone."

He gave Sophie a look that said she was clueless, then started opening the noodle packet. As he did, he noticed a white ceramic pot steaming on the counter, releasing a mouth-watering aroma.

"What's this?" he asked, curiosity piqued.

"It's soup for Colby," Sophie replied, lifting the lid to reveal a simmering, milky white fish soup.

Odie wrinkled his nose. "Isn't fish soup for nursing mothers? What, is Colby just out of confinement?"

Sophie gave him a sharp look. "Who told you that? Fish soup is savory and nutritious. If you don't know, it's better not to speak."

With that, she replaced the lid, turned off the stove, and prepared to carry the pot upstairs. Odie couldn't resist one last dig.

"Is that even edible? Not some weird concoction, right?"

Odie hung up, still fuming, and threw the packet of noodles into the trash can.

Meanwhile, Sophie returned to her room with the pot. Colby's face lit up when he saw the soup.

"It looks delicious," he said.

"It tastes even better," Sophie assured him, ladling some into a bowl. She blew on it gently before bringing the spoon to Colby's lips.

Colby's eyes never left Sophie's face, not even glancing at the soup until he tasted it. "Is it good?" Sophie asked eagerly.

A tender smile spread across Colby's face, his eyes soft and warm. "Delicious."

"Odie said this fish soup is for nursing mothers. Not sure if that's true or not," Sophie mused with a chuckle.
