Standing outside the door was Harold.

When Sophie opened the door, Harold frowned slightly and asked, “Why are you here?”

“I came to check on Mr. Gordon.” Sophie frowned back. “Is it so weird that I want to see him?”

Harold pursed his lips. “How’s my brother doing?”

“Not well, he’s been coughing a lot.”

Sophie shook her head helplessly. “I won’t keep you, I’ll head out.”

Sophie hurried out, and just then, Rick called out, “Ms. Sophie, I think you left something behind.”

“Oh right, the S Corporation reports Tricia brought me today. I totally forgot.”

She walked over to the desk, retrieved the documents, and quickly left the room.

Harold finally stepped inside, making sure to close the door behind him.

As the door clicked shut, Sophie paused. Why did Mr. Gordon insist on keeping his fake illness a secret from Harold?

“Hey!”

Sophie jumped, spinning around to see Sandy standing behind her.

“What’s got you so deep in thought?” Sandy asked, puzzled.

Sophie took a deep breath. “Ms. Sandy, do you need something?”

“Not really, just bored. Haven’t seen you guys around much lately,” Sandy muttered. “You’re not in trouble, are you? I called my dad! He'll sort everything out in three days, no worries!”

“Sophie, I’ve done you such a big favor, shouldn’t you spend a few days entertaining me? I don’t know a single socialite in London. Help me set up some gatherings, take me to dinners or fashion and jewelry events?”

Sandy’s eyes sparkled with excitement at the mention of dinners.

She had been bored stiff during her time in Devonport.

Before Sophie could respond, Colby, who appeared out of nowhere, chimed in, “Go on, take a break.”

Sophie shook her head. “Colby, why are you encouraging this?”

It was a critical time; Jenna and Adler were buried in work. How could she relax?

“Just check it out.”

Colby handed an invitation to Sophie. “Perfect timing, the new CEO of the Mintons has just made an appearance.”
