"How's that even possible?" Elodie flashed a subtle smile, saying, "We're all old friends here. We just swung by to take our folks back and avoid any bloodshed on either side. That's all."

"If that's truly it, I might give it a thought." Joseph cast a glance at Colby, adding, "But I'm worried some might not be eager to leave."

Right then, Odie stepped up, boldly declaring, "We can settle our scores later. Even if we don't take your life now, we'll surely claim it eventually."

Colby realized Odie was giving him a chance to escape, and his hand, clutching the ring, was already bleeding. Seeing this, Odie and Griffin quickly grabbed Colby's arm.

"Let's move," Griffin said sternly. They had no time to waste. If they lingered, it was either Joseph’s life or theirs on the line.

Despite Griffin and Odie's intervention, Colby was reluctant until Odie said, "If you stay, we might all end up dead here. I'm not ready to kick the bucket for your sake."

Julian chimed in, "Colby, we need to leave now. We can always save Ms. Sophie later. Dragging this out will only lead to pointless losses."

With their words falling flat, Griffin frowned and swiftly knocked Colby out with a strike to the neck.

"You guys talk way too much," Griffin said coolly. "Let's get moving. Joseph’s not really planning to let us walk away."

Elodie quickly organized the group to get them out of there. The cars were already lined up and waiting outside.

Once everyone had left, James signaled to regroup. "Letting them go will haunt us sooner or later."

"They’re armed too; I can't gamble on that."

Joseph got up, saying, "Alright, let’s check our supplies. I need to leave first thing tomorrow."

Watching Joseph leave, James finally turned his gaze to the coffin outside the Burke Estate.

Inside the Burke Estate, Griffin dumped Colby onto the bedroom bed, eyeing Colby's tightly clenched right hand. He frowned and said, "Get a doctor to check it; it's already bleeding."

Odie also noticed Colby's injured hand. He tried to pry it open but found it too tightly clenched.
