Sandy felt a chill run down her spine at the look on Kiran's face.

Ignoring Sandy’s protests, a servant soon approached, saying, “Ms. Sandy, your bath is ready.”

Seeing Kiran wasn’t budging, Sandy stuck her tongue out at him. “I’ll ask you again when I’m all clear-headed tomorrow! No way you’ll keep mum!”

Kiran raised an eyebrow, tapping his chest in mock fear, “Oh, I'm so scared of your little interrogations. Not a chance you'll get anything out of me.”

Colby set some medicine down in front of Sophie, who shook her head. “I can’t.”

“Afraid it’ll make things tough for her?”

“Yep.”

Sophie explained, “Sandy’s Kiran’s sister; he’ll look out for her. By calling me, it’s like she’s betraying him. To keep her from a tough spot later, it’s better she stays on Kiran’s side now. If he finds out she’s been in touch with us, she’ll be in deeper trouble.”

Colby added, “We didn’t need her intel anyway. We’ve tracked down where Kiran is.”

“Already? That fast?”

Sophie was surprised. She hadn’t expected Kiran to leave his tracks so openly after leaving the Pollard family.
