Chapter 100 New Evening Gown

Eric deliberately raised his voice so that Levi, who was cooking in the kitchen, would overhear it.

I noticed Levi marching out of the kitchen, carrying a pot in his hand and looking furious. “I’m staying with Jane because we have a lot of work–related stuff to discuss! You’re overstepping your bounds here, Mr. Flint!”

In fact, Levi was right. I allowed him to stay at my place because he was struggling to find a suitable place to stay in Caldera and partly because, with so much left to finalize before the studio launched, living together just made things more convenient.

Levi tossed out that remark and returned to the kitchen, paying no attention to what else Eric had to say.

“I’ll have him move into a place near the studio once our work is more stable,” I explained, meeting Eric’s intense gaze.

“I guess he could stay at my place for now,” Eric suggested with a sigh

I glanced up at him, puzzled “What about you, then?”

“I’ll stay here and cook for you instead,” Eric replied with a playful wink.

I found myself utterly entranced by his deep, seductive voice.

It was at that very moment that I regained my composure and suggested, “You two should just live together.”

“In that case, forget it,” Eric said in disgust, withdrawing his gaze. “If that were to happen, it’d only be a matter of time before one of us ends up jumping off the building”

He then grabbed a bag from the side and handed it to me, saying, “Also, since the banquet is happening in a few days, I thought this gown might suit you well. Go on Have a look and see if it’s to your liking”

I took the bag and found a gold–plated box nestled inside. I could tell how expensive the gown was just by looking at the exquisite packaging Lopened the box, and sure enough, I found a stunning black evening gown resting softly inside.
