In my dream, Eric held me just like he did last night while carrying me up the stairs, one step at a time.

The warm glow of the chandelier bathed us in golden light, blurring the edges of reality. All I could see was his silhouette.

He placed me gently on the bed and leaned in, slowly closing the distance between us. I didn't resist. A wave of excitement surged through me as I let myself sink into the moment.

When I woke up, my heart was still pounding. I pressed a hand to my chest, trying to steady myself. I then stumbled downstairs in a daze, making my way to the dining room.

Eric seemed to have just arrived as well as his coffee sat untouched on the table. The moment he saw me, he greeted me with a soft smile. "Morning."

His gaze flicked over my face, taking in my unusually flushed cheeks. "Looks like you slept well last night. You're practically glowing today."

I froze, instinctively touching my face. It took me a moment to process what he was implying, and when I did, my head snapped down. My voice came out awkward and rushed. "I…I guess so."

Thankfully, Eric had an early meeting at the office. After downing his coffee, he left in a hurry.
