Scarlett immediately understood what was happening. She frowned and murmured, “Mr. Hall, I should just go back to my research.” 

Turning on her heel, she headed for the exit. But before she could step into the hallway, 

Harrison reached out and grabbed her wrist. 

“Scarlett, why are you avoiding me?” 

She pulled free and replied calmly, “I’m not avoiding you.” 

His voice trembled with emotion as he said, “Liar. You saw me and tried to leave. If you really didn’t care about me, why can’t you even face me?” 

Scarlett let out a weary sigh. Then, meeting his gaze head–on, she said evenly, “See? I’m not avoiding you. I told you already. I just don’t want to waste my time on you anymore. That’s all.
