Brandon was uncharacteristically quiet this time, which didn’t fit his usual style at all.
“He’s unpredictable—sometimes reckless, sometimes meticulous. It’s impossible to get a read on him,” Kenney spoke up again.
“That just proves Brandon isn’t acting alone,” Tyrone said with a cold smirk. “Whenever something is carefully planned, it’s because someone’s advising him. The rashness—that’s the real Brandon.”
The fact that Brandon hadn’t made a move yet clearly meant someone skilled was guiding him from the shadows.
“Brandon’s an illegitimate son. For him to have gotten this far on his own? Not a chance,” Kenney added, turning to Tyrone. “You’ve been holding back from taking action against him—trying to figure out who’s pulling his strings, aren’t you?”
Tyrone nodded.
Whoever this person was, they weren’t just using Brandon to attack the White family and orchestrate the murder of Alicia’s parents. They were almost certainly involved in his mother’s madness and eventual death, too.
To have the influence to manipulate the two most powerful families in Harboridge City from behind the scenes—who could this person possibly be? Someone so careful, even the old man never suspected a thing, not even up to his dying day.
“This isn’t going to be easy,” Kenney sighed. “Whoever they are, they’re no ordinary player. Dragging them out into the open will be tough.”
Tough or not, Tyrone was determined.
Otherwise, Alicia would never truly be safe.
As long as she remained the White family’s heir, the person behind the scenes would never let her go.
“But right now, you’re the one in the most danger,” Kenney said worriedly to Tyrone. “You’ve lost control of Lynch Corporation, but you’re still holding onto a fortune. I’m afraid you’ll be a target for every vulture out there.”
“Let them come,” Tyrone replied with a chilling smile.
“Alicia’s pregnant. Try not to get yourself hurt,” Kenney cautioned, worried their enemies might get desperate and try to kill Tyrone outright.
Honestly, Tyrone’s death would solve a lot of problems for their enemies.
If he died, everything would fall to Alicia, and she’d be far easier to deal with. No one would take her seriously.
