James, Qiyana, and Maddox headed straight toward the region where the Medicuses were located.

“I heard the Medicuses stopped treating outsiders.” Maddox’s voice resounded in the darkness.

Qiyana asked, “What happened? The Medicuses have always been friendly toward other races and rarely turn down anyone who asks for help. Why did they stop treating outsiders?”

Maddox explained, “It’s a very long story. Many years ago, a magical herb was stolen from their Medical Valley. I heard it was an Empyrean Spiritual Root that was about to evolve into a living being. If it successfully evolved, it would’ve become a powerhouse at the Holy Celestial Rank.

“There are rumors that some powerhouses appeared in the Medcuses’ territory and stole the Empyrean Spiritual Root.

“I’m not sure about what really went down. I’m just an assassin who hides in the dark, so I don’t pay much attention to theis kind of stuff. I merely heard that after the incident, the Medicuses began to despise other Primevals.”

James said, “It doesn’t matter. Let’s try to visit them first.”

The Medicuses were James’ hope of recovering Qairo’s injuries. If Qairo woke up, his success rate in killing Yui would improve significantly.

The three quickly traveled through the darkness. Soon, they arrived outside the Medical City. The formation outside the city blocking outsiders from entering immediately caught their attention.

After seeing the formation, Maddox said, “It seems the rumors are true. The Medicuses no longer wish to interact with other races.”

“What should we do now?” Qiyana looked at James.

“We’ll have to try,” James said, then approached the formation. He clasped his hands and shouted, “My name is Forty-nine. I’m here to see the Medicuses.”

His voice echoed throughout the area. Soon, a few guards showed up. Although the guards had human forms, their bodies emitted the fragrance of medical herbs. James could tell they were living beings that evolved from Empyrean herbs.

Soon, a crack appeared in the formation, and a beautiful woman walked out. She looked at Qiyana and said calmly, “Follow me.”

“Let’s go,” said Qiyana.

James nodded slightly in response.

They followed the woman to a valley where the Medicuses resided. The valley’s environment was peaceful and full of Spiritual Energy. A variety of Empyrean herbs could be seen growing throughout the valley.

The beautiful woman led them to a simple wooden house and asked, " What do you need?”

Qiyana replied, “I’m here to ask for your help, Saintess.”
