Emmy and Lily were preparing to leave but when they heard Hansel was cooking, they decided to say.
Eating a meal prepared by Hansel was much more tempting than Lyla buying them luxurious food.
Therefore, a lively scene happened at the dining table.
Three ladies, plus a girl, sat down at the table and chatted, while the boy was busy cooking in the kitchen.
No one came into the kitchen to offer help but Hansel was happy with it. The open kitchen allowed him to have a clear view over the dining table and he smiled at the lively atmosphere.
Just before dinner was served, Mark came back.
He tried to reach Lyla for a whole day but the woman did not answer his call, it almost drove him crazy. He rushed back home right after he finished work.
Right before he lashed out at Lyla, he saw a table full of ladies and it caught him off guard. He showed a gloomy look instead of lashing out.
“Daddy, you are back?” Gretel greeted him from the couch.
“Mhmm,” Mark answered with a grunt.
“Mr. Pattison!” Lily bolted up and greeted Mark as if she was at work greeting her boss.
Her instinctive reaction scared Emmy.
Emmy tapped her shoulder and said, “You scared me! Is it really necessary?!”
“He’s my boss, not yours!” Lily whispered so softly that only Emmy could hear her.
Mark glanced over Lily’s little action but was not concerned. He said, “Just make yourself at home, there’s no need to be so stiff.”
“Yes, sir!” Lily said. All she lacked was a salutation and it would look like she was meeting her superior instead of her friend’s husband.
Fortunately for Lily, Mark did not care.
Mark only saw Lyla at the moment and it was not a friendly gaze. He walked over and gave her a cold glance. “A moment please.”
“What’s wrong?” Lyla asked.
“Can I have a moment with you?”
His eyes were burning with rage and Lyla knew he was mad because she had been ignoring his calls for days.
Of course Lyla could not leave with him at the moment, so she smiled and said, “I have guests here.”
Mark looked at the ladies. “They are guests?”
Emmy was rather upset by his tone. “What do you mean by that?”
Gretel immediately explained, “My daddy means we are all part of the family, of course you are not guests!”
Emmy found Gretel’s explanation rather pleasing, so she did not start an argument with Mark. Mark was not her boss, so she was not afraid of him.
“Just say whatever you want to say right here!” Lyla insisted on staying with her friends.
“Are you coming with me or do I have to carry you away?” Mark asked.
Emmy was aroused by what she heard, she even whistled like a rascal.
Even Lily found it to be extremely arousing, Mark and Lyla were having it the simple but brutal way.
Lyla was speechless. She did not know how to react to her friend’s ridiculing gaze.
“I’m not leaving!”
Mark cut to the chase. He walked closer and carried Lyla up from the couch. He then said to Emmy and Lily, “You guys make yourself at home. There’s something that we need to discuss. We will be back soon.”
“Okay, okay! Take all the time you want! You don’t have to rush it, I know you guys will spend a long time together,” Emmy joked.
“Yeah, we’ll make ourselves comfortable, you don’t need to worry!”
Lyla glared at the two ladies. “You guys are the worst!”
Emmy gave Lyla a fly kiss and said, “Just go, you don’t need to be embarrassed. We hear nothing!”
Lyla’s face flushed. It seemed like her friends’ imagination was going out of control.
“Put me down Mark! I can walk on my own!”
“Too late.”
“Put me down! Put me down!”
No matter how Lyla struggled, Mark carried her effortlessly as if he was carrying a kitten and they left before Lyla could even catch a breath.
Bang! The door was slammed but it sparked curiosity in Emmy and Lily’s heart.
Gretel was sitting in Emmy’s arms. “Is daddy going to do something to mommy?”
“Of course he will!”
“Is mommy going to be okay?”
“Maybe you will have a little brother or little sister,” Emmy said with an evil grin.
Gretel understood what she meant and for a moment there, she looked at the closed door with an anticipated gaze.
……
Inside the room, Mark roughly tossed Lyla on the bed.
Fortunately, the bed was soft enough, otherwise Lyla would have gone to war with him.
Lyla frowned, took a step back when she saw the angry look on him. “Mark, what are you doing? Can we use our words instead of action…”
Lyla acted like nothing happened and it made Mark furrow his brows. He said, “Lyla, are you trying to get yourself killed?”
“No? I’m here, alive and healthy!” Lyla said.
Mark got angrier when Lyla argued.
He got up to her, pushed her down on the bed, and put himself on top of her before he ravaged her lips with his own.
Lyla was helpless and speechless at the man’s forceful act, he did this almost every time.
After struggling silently for a few seconds, Lyla finally pushed him away. She panted heavily and bellowed, “Mark! Can you calm down?!”
“I…” Lyla was speechless.
“I’ll leave.” Mark stood up and wanted to leave.
Lyla frowned and for whatever strange reason, she said, “Mark, that’s enough! Stop behaving like a spoiled child!”
Spoiled child?
Mark frowned but did not turn around.
Lyla walked over and looked at him. “I’m not mad, so why are you?”
Mark frowned and looked at her. “Mad? What are you talking about? Lyla, if Hansel didn’t answer your calls for a day, how would you feel?”
Mark’s words froze Lyla. She really did not know how to respond to his concerns and caring gaze.
“Look, I’m sorry okay?” Lyla said.
Mark squinted his eyes at her body. “Lyla, you will never know how I feel if you don’t love me as much as I love you.”
Lyla’s heart skipped a beat. He was right, she might never know how it felt.
However, when Mark tried to leave, she felt scared, she was scared that he would leave for good.
The feeling surprised even herself and when it escaped her mouth, she could not believe it.
Lyla wanted to say something but failed to gather the right words. She could not even lower herself to apologize to him.
In the end, she reached out to his collar and grabbed it coquettishly. She stared at him with her crystal clear eyes quietly.
Damn it. Mark should be mad but when he saw her eyes, the look on her face, his heart softened up.
“Damn it. What’s wrong? Say something.”
Lyla kept quiet and stared at him. Her lips even curled up to a faint grin.
The look on her face was so seductive that Mark wanted to set himself free and kiss her.
“If you don’t let me go, I’ll have to kiss you.”
Lyla tightened her grip even though she knew he meant what he said.
Since Lyla decided to cling to him, Mark pushed her to the wall and pinned her down. He did not kiss her but he got close enough and said with a strong tone, “Let go of me.”
Mark was emanating a manly presence. All women, to a certain extent, loved a strong and dominant man, including Lyla.
The confident and strong Lyla was like a little girl in front of Mark. She looked at him with her crystal clear eyes, she shook her head and refused to let go.
She had no idea how seductive she was. Mark set himself free and kissed her on the lips.
This time, he was not as rough as before, he softly lifted her chin and locked lips with her tenderly.
Lyla did not reject it either, instead, she slowly took the initiative and welcomed the kiss.
This was probably the first time the two of them truly kissed.
After all, the feelings in their hearts were slowly moving closer to each other.
