When Lyla arrived at her work place, she quickly became the receiving end of praise and awe. She only had a change of clothes, though.

“Lyla, you’re looking very pretty today!” Lily immediately offered her praise the moment she saw Lyla.

“Come on. I just had a change of clothes. I know I usually wear black, white, or gray,” Lyla refuted bashfully.

“Lyla, you add excitement by being in the Department of Design!” cried another male colleague.

“Hah! With such a beauty here, we won’t feel tired of work!” cried another male colleague.

The crowd immediately laughed.

Suddenly, everyone just stopped talking. Lyla could feel a cold stare coming from the front.

She raised her head and saw a stare filled with animosity directed towards her.

‘Isn’t that President Pattinson’s girlfriend?

‘So she’s working in the company as well? And she’s even my superior?’

Kathleen Turner knocked the table and asked, “Why is everyone not working? Are you all so free?”

Everyone’s head immediately lowered. They hurried into returning to their work.

Kathleen came before Lyla and said, “Miss Lowe, you don’t compete with your looks in our office, you compete with your ability to work.”

“Well, in my opinion, there’s no conflict between the two,” Lyla said slowly, “While working hard, isn’t it better for everyone to have something nice to look at?”

The look on Kathleen's face changed. “In that case, since you’re so free, you will be in charge of these designing projects! Submit them to me before the day ends!”

She then dumped everything she had to Lyla before leaving arrogantly with a huff.

As she watched Kathleen Turner walk away, Lyla frowned.

Why did Kathleen Turner always regard her with hostility every time they met? Speaking of which, had she even done anything to anger her?

When noon came, Lyla did not go for lunch. Instead, Lily got her some takeout.

After a few casual bites, she resumed work.

When it was time to clock off work, every one of her colleagues went home. She was left alone in the office working.

She massaged her sore shoulders and did a little stretching for her waist.

‘Sigh…’

She wondered how her two darlings were doing at home. Bless her brother for being there, or she would not know what to do. However, her brother could not continue remaining single. He should start making an effort to settle down.

‘Stop thinking so much. I should finish today’s tasks first!”

When Mark Pattinson came out from his office and went into the Department of Design, what he saw was a scene straight out of a picture.

He saw a figure dressed in pink, engrossed with her work. The way she lowered her head was so beautiful that his heart raced.
