After injecting all of Lola’s medicine into Gretel, her body functions got better little by little.

This was a good sign, but for her to recover, they still had to wait for the last dose of medicine.

After Lola went back, Mark and Lyla also went in.

Lola looked at them. “You don’t need to try pulling any tricks. There’s only one dose of the last medicine, and I’ll have to mix it first!”

“You think too much. I’m not trying to steal the medicine from you!”

“Waiting for your answer!”

Lola was stunned, then her eyes swept to Lyla. “She agreed?”

Hansel was responsible for disrupting the surroundings while Lingo covered for them, and Mark and Lola would go in to assassinate Angiulo.

After discussing the plan, they acted on it the next night.

Just after the decision was made, Felix Smith came.

His appearance was unexpected by everyone.

“Why are you here?” Lyla asked Felix.

“I’m here to see Gretel. How is she?” Felix asked, and they looked at the person lying on the bed.

“She’s still the same. You’re injured now, so don’t run about!” Lyla chastised.

“If you don’t go, I’ll just have to come!” Felix said to her. Despite resting for a few days, he did not look any better.

Lyla lowered her eyes and did not say anything more.

“Are you feeling better?”

Lyla nodded.

Seeing Felix being caring and attentive, Mark could not erase their past, but he could not allow Felix to express himself directly like that.

He walked up. “Thank you for that day!”

“No need. I didn’t do it for you. It was for Gretel!”

“No matter who you did it for, I still have to thank you!” Mark said as Gretel’s father. That was a fact that could not be changed.

Felix glanced at them. “Has Lola agreed yet?”

The moment he spoke, Lyla subconsciously did not know how to answer, and she looked at Mark.

“She has!” Mark said, not planning to conceal it because there was no way of hiding it.

“She agreed?” Felix was surprised and looked at Lyla to verify whether what Mark said was true or not.

Lyla nodded.

“Did you agree to her conditions?” Felix asked.

Lyla did not speak, but it only confirmed Felix’s answer.

“What did you agree on?” Felix asked.

“That’s none of your business!” Mark said.

“I’m not trying to meddle in your business. I’m worried about Lyla. Mark Pattinson, if you want to die, then don’t drag Lyla down with you!”

Hearing this, Mark’s expression darkened. “Felix Smith, don’t cross the line!”

“So what if I cross the line? It’s better than you dragging her to her death with you!”

“Watch your mouth!”

“Did I say anything wrong?”

Seeing the two people about to get into a fight, Lyla immediately stepped in between them. “That’s enough. What are you two doing?”

“Lyla, come with me. Otherwise, you’ll be in danger!”

“Felix Smith, that’s enough!”

“Mark Pattinson, I won’t stop you if you want to die, but don’t even think about bringing Lyla along!”

Felix froze at that. His deep eyes were cold as ice, and his usual elegance was replaced with a frigid aura.

Then, he sneered. “I’ve never thought about that before. To me, Lyla is Lyla, so Mark Pattinson, don’t push me!”

His words completely angered Mark. “Felix Smith, you—”

As soon as he was about to step forward, a figure also stepped in. Felix did not cower and was without fear, and the three people formed a standoff.

Lyla stood in the middle, not knowing what to do.

These two were just like enemies, wanting to go at each other from the moment they met.

“Have you two had enough?” Lyla looked at them.

Mark and Felix both remained silent, but their sharp eyes looked at each other, not willing to give in.

“You guys are still in the mood to cause trouble at this point? Fine, if you want to make a scene, then do it outside! Don’t come in until someone’s dead!” Then, Lyla turned and walked away.

Anyone could say that Lyla was angry.

Felix frowned. “What did you say?”

“Since you know what I’m going to do, you should know how dangerous it is. If she’s with you, I can rest assured!”

“I have to do this!”

Felix looked at him and then said, “It looks like you’ve already decided!”

Early in the morning, Lyla was just about to see Gretel when Shadow came.

He usually guarded Felix’s side, so it must be something important for him to come over.

“Ms. Lowe!”

“What’s wrong?”

“Something happened to the boss!”

Lyla frowned upon hearing that. “What happened?”

“I don’t know. Please come with me to have a look, Ms. Lowe!”

Lyla did not think much about it and nodded. “Okay!”

Just as she was about to leave, she remembered something and called Mark.

“Mark, something happened to Felix. I’m going to see him!”

“Alright, I got it!”

Lyla still wanted to say something, but the situation was too urgent, so she left it at that.

As she left, Mark stood upstairs and watched her departing back. His eyes grew deeper and deeper...

A few moments later, he picked up his phone. “We can act today!”

At Felix’s side.

“How are you? Are you okay?”

Felix nodded. “Yeah, I’m much better!”

“Since you’re almost better, I’ll go back first. I’ll come see you tomorrow!” Then, Lyla got up to leave.

However, Felix grabbed her. “Stay here with me today!”

Lyla looked at him and shook his head. “Felix, you’re fine now, but Gretel is still waiting for me at the hospital!”

“She’ll be fine!”

“I know, but I…”

“Just one day!” Felix said.

Lyla looked, feeling that he was acting weird today. There was an indescribable strangeness.

She narrowed her eyes. “Felix, is there something you’re hiding from me?”

Every time she talked about leaving, Felix would find many excuses for her to stay.

They had known each other for a long time and Lyla understood him, so she could see that he was acting off today.

Felix froze at her words but then smiled. “What are you talking about? I just want you to stay with me and accompany me!”

“Do you know that every time you lie, you won’t dare to look me in the eye?” Lyla looked at him.

Felix did not expect her to know him so well and looked at her. “Don’t think too much. What could I be hiding from you?”

The more he said so, the more suspicious Lyla got.
