Lyla deliberately walked out of the washroom slowly. She preferred to stay longer outside as she was bound to drink again once she returned to the private room.

The moment she came out of the washroom, someone blocked her way. Mark Pattinson was standing in the corridor, leaning against the wall and smoking. The smoke that curled up in the air blurred the view of his expression.

This person was everywhere!

Since she had learned her lesson from her previous experience, Lyla dared not ask him any questions. She walked past him silently.

“Where are you going?” Mark Pattinson asked coldly. The chillness in his voice would have sent a shiver down everyone’s spines.

“Oh... I just went to the washroom.”

‘Damn it, do I need to report to him whenever I use the washroom?’ Lyla grumbled in her heart.

“Really? What did you do then?”

What... Lyla went speechless.

Unbeknownst to her, that scene between her and Arden had been caught by Mark Pattinson. He had sneaked out when he realized that Lyla had not returned after some time. Coincidentally, it was at that exact moment that the scene unfolded right before him. From his perspective, the two of them seemed to be hugging one another intimately. Therefore, the sight had caused him much irritation.

Was that not a silly question? What else could one do inside a washroom other than relieving oneself?

Lyla was utterly speechless and continued on her way. ‘I cannot afford to mess with you, so the best I can do is avoid you.’

With a look of persistence, Mark Pattinson raised his alluring eyebrows. He gritted his teeth as he said, “Did I say you could go?”

“What do you want from me, Mr. President?” Lyla halted her footsteps and looked at Mark Pattinson in confusion. She had no idea how she had offended him again.

“Who sent you over? Is it Arden?” Mark Pattinson asked directly.

“I’m not sure what you mean.” Lyla felt that there was no need to explain herself. Where was the logic? Did he really think that she was a spy or plotting against him?

“The meaning of the words!”

The dialogue between both of them was very straightforward and explosive. It could have been due to the effect of the alcoholic drinks. Lyla raised her head and gazed at Mark Pattinson.

She looked exceptionally alluring with her rosy cheeks.

Mark Pattinson abruptly dragged her aside and pressed her against the wall. He then leaned closer toward her. He was more than a head taller than Lyla.

“What are you doing?” Lyla frowned and asked in frustration.

Mark Pattinson had trapped her with both of his arms. Squinting, his deep voice escaped his thin lips. “What’s your relationship with Arden? Hmm?” Actually, Mark Pattinson had no idea why he sounded so bitter like a jealous man checking on his woman.

“That’s my personal business, and there’s no need for me to clarify it to you, Mr. President!” Lyla said.

Upon hearing those words, Mark Pattinson glared at her. He prowled over her with that penetrating gaze of his. Great, those words finally stirred him up.

All of a sudden, he smiled.

Lyla shook her head to clear her mind. She pouted and grumbled about how this man was truly flirtatious in her heart!

When Lyla returned to the private room, everyone was still in high spirits. She could not afford to drink a lot anymore, thus, she isolated herself to stay sane. Everyone enjoyed themselves till eleven o’clock at night. Only then did they call it a day and go home respectively.

Lyla secretly sent a message to Arden to inform him about her departure. She had no intention of rekindling Arden’s affections despite knowing his feelings for her. During their school days, she had a little crush on him, but she kept it to herself. Today’s reunion with him was the last thing she had ever wanted to happen because she was no longer that innocent young girl she used to be. She was a mother of two children now.

At the entrance of the pub, everyone was figuring out ways to go back home.

Since almost everyone was drunk, most of them took a cab home.

Lyla also planned to call a cab home.

At that moment, Kathleen walked out of the pub with her arms wrapped around Mark Pattinson’s.

“Ms. Lowe, where do you live? Do you want us to give you a ride?” she asked hypocritically. In fact, all she wanted was to show off her little sense of achievement.

“No, thanks!” Lyla smiled humbly. She never met Mark Pattinson’s gaze throughout the conversation.

In the nick of time, a car stopped right in front of Lyla.

Lily popped her head out of the car and shouted, “Lyla, hop in!”

Lyla turned her head over and noticed Ethan’s car. She winked at Lily. ‘My God, you are my savior indeed! What perfect timing!’
