Lyla was eating her food. “What happened?”

“The rumors between daddy and yourself have hit the news!” Hansel replied immediately.

Lyla paused, then she said, “I am who I am, and he is who he is. As for the news on the magazine, it was nothing but a misunderstanding. After all, everyone knows he has a fiancee!”

“Nothing else?”

“Nothing!”

“But you both kissed!” Gretel said.

“Prove it!” Lyla denied.

Gretel placed the magazine on the table “Mummy, please read carefully. Do you still want to deny it?”

Lyla “......”

Despite not looking at it, she knew what it was about as she had previously read the magazine in the company.

Lyla fell speechless, then she said, “Still, it doesn’t mean anything!”

“A kiss means nothing? Mummy, what’s wrong with you?” Gretel looked at her as she asked. Hansel kept quiet, however, he agreed with his sister.

Lyla “.....He has a fiancee!” Lyla reminded them.

“So what?”

Lyla “.....What do you mean by that? Do you expect me to claim him as mine when he already has a fiancee?”

“Mummy, am I not your daughter?” Gretel threw her a scornful look.

“So?”

“So, if I were you, I would take down the host and grab back daddy. I would become his official wife!” Gretel said.

Lyla “......”

“It’s not good to become a mistress. I never taught you that!” Lyla said.

“Mummy, she’s the mistress, okay? Both you and dad already have two kids, so now, who’s the real mistress?!” Gretel said in a persistence manner. Lyla went speechless. What she said made sense.

She was about to be brain-washed by these two children.

“Hold up. Let’s say I’m not interested in him, okay?!” Lyla asked.

“Really? Why do I sense that someone is feeling sour?” Hansel asked.

Gretel nodded. “Mhm! I sensed it too!”

Lyla “.......”

“Don’t you want to come and have your meals?” Lyla stared at them.

Hansel and Gretel shut their mouth and hurried over to take their meals.

“Mummy, pulling rank over us doesn’t mean you’ve won the fight. Facts are facts!” Hansel said.

Lyla “......Shut up!”

Hansel shut his mouth up obediently.

Hansel felt that his dad and mummy matched perfectly.

As for that one with just a pretty face, Hansel did not think that daddy loved her anyway. Like father, like son, both shared similar tastes in human aesthetics!

Hansel was becoming more confident of himself as they ate.

“Mummy, let’s not stay here anymore, shall we?” Hansel asked.

Lyla frowned while eating her meal. “Why not? Anything wrong with staying here?”

“I wish to provide a better place for mummy. The newly built Le Grand Apartment is going to launch for sale tomorrow. Shall we buy one unit there?” Hansel said, “The view over there is panoramic, we can select the higher floors and when we stand at the top, half of the Alpine city view will unfold before our sight!”

“I agree!!!” Gretel raised her hand as a gesture of agreement.

Gretel was a spoiled child who really knew how to enjoy a good life.

Le Grand Apartment?

Lyla was startled.

She had heard that billions were invested in that project and that it was the most demanding apartment in Alpine City for the year.

It would be difficult to secure a unit as they were selling like hot cakes!

Many businessmen had bought their units over there. As such, it was presumed that bonding was formed.

When on earth would be their turn?

Lyla looked at them. “Mummy will work hard for another few years. With my current earnings, I can’t even afford the washroom from one unit!”

Of course, this was only an exaggeration.

Nonetheless, the selling price was truly expensive.

Hansel looked at her. “I can buy it for mummy if you want!”

Lyla raised her head and watched him. He looked calm. “Mummy knows that you’re a filial son, but I have no plan to sell you off yet!”

“Mummy, I’m serious!” Hansel said solemnly.

“Mhm, so you’re being serious. How about financials? Are we going to eat nothing after buying the house?” Lyla asked.

“Mummy, believe me or not. With my savings, I can own the entire apartment!” Hansel said proudly. The look on him resembled Mark Pattinson.

He could even build a house with his fortune!

Lyla peeped at him. “Darling, mummy knows that you’re very intelligent. But, please stop testing mummy’s patience with your intelligence!!”

In other words, Lyla thought he was only joking around.

Looking at Justin, a cold smile arched across his lips. “Father, I can obey your words in many ways. But, this is the only exception!”

Eileen Dawson sat aside and remained silent. Her gaze was guileful.

“You must obey no matter what!”

If he were to be in the same situation two years ago, he might obey his father. Today, he no longer would!

“I am in charge of my private affairs. No one can decide on my behalf!” After finishing his words, Mark Pattinson turned and walked away.

“Mark Pattinson, if you refuse to settle this issue, I’m afraid I’m not able to do what I’ve promised you!” Eileen Dawson said as she enunciated each word carefully.

Mark Pattinson paused his footsteps.

He did not turn his head. He was in a daze for a moment, and walked away eventually.

At that moment, Logan walked into the house. When he saw Mark Pattinson, he said in sarcasm “Here he is, isn’t he the ladies man in Alpine city?”

“Get lost!” Mark Pattinson spat out these words at him in rage.

Logan was enraged. After Mark Pattinson walked away, he shouted furiously “Do you think I fear you? It’s just that I don’t want to argue with a lame man like you!”

Mark Pattinson boarded his car. The reflection of the rear-view mirror showed his vicious look.

He was rebellious by nature and often worked in his own way.

Despite being vicious, he had his soft spot.

Mark Pattinson’s mother was his only soft spot.

Long time ago, Mark Pattinson’s mother had fallen in love with Justin. Justin was already a flirtatious man back then. Yet, his mother still fell for him. After she realised he had a family, she decided not to become his mistress and left him. Little did she know that she became pregnant soon afterwards. Therefore, she raised him all by herself. Later, she passed away in an accident. Mark Pattinson had since decided to look for Justin in order to fulfill his mother’s wishes…..

Against everyone’s expectations, Eileen Dawson discovered the affair while she was pregnant. She had fought with Justin over this discovery and eventually, she sufferred from miscarriage.

He had felt guilty about this incident. Nonetheless, he still joined Pattinson's family. As such, whenever he was around, Eileen Dawson would stare at him full of hatred. All these years, she had never let him through easily.

Later on, out of Mark Patinson’s guilty feeling as well as being a thorn in Eileen Dawson’s eyes, Eileen Dawson had kicked him out from the house.

It was a turning point in his life ever since that incident. He did not know if he should thank her or hate her…..

At that moment, Mark Pattinson’s phone rang and interrupted his thoughts.

Mark Pattinson read the phone number, then answered the call.

“Mr. Pattinson, everything’s done!”

“Mhm!” Mark Pattinson replied, then a thought crossed his mind and he smiled, “Ellis, please do me a favour…..”

After he hung up, Mark Pattinson smirked. Was it true that with Aron, everything in Alpine city would be smooth sailing?

What a naive thought!

Only he could control other people’s fate, not the other way round!

Worse comes to worst, everyone dies together!
