Lyla opened her eyes widely and felt unbelievable that Mark Pattinson was with Gretel?!

Could it be that he already knew the truth?

Lyla’s mind kept spinning. But very soon, she calmed herself down.

Judging from Mark Pattinson’s characters, if he were to find out about the truth, for sure he would not do what he was doing right now by bringing Gretel along to the hospital.

Gretel contacted Mark Pattinson before and Lyla also knew about it. And so, now Gretel went to look for Mark Pattinson again?

At that moment, Lily sensed that she was not in the mood. She looked at her and asked, “What’s the matter, Lyla?”

“Huh?” Lyla glanced at her.

“Why are you looking agitated?” Lily asked.

Lyla shook her head guiltily. “Nothing!”

Lily had never met Hansel and Gretel. If only she had seen them, she would have understood why she felt so distressed.

“I wonder where did Mr. Pattinson find this girl from? She doesn’t even look like she’s ten years old. Could she be his illegitimate daughter?” Someone beside them made a guess.

“It’s possible. After all, no one knows much about the wealthy men stuff, it could be real!”

“Exactly. Kathleen Turner’s scandal has brought shame to Mr. Pattinson. In return, Mr. Pattinson brought a kid to her, it looks like they are going to call off their wedding soon!”

Lyla listened to them, not knowing how to reply.

Indeed, Gretel was Mark Pattinson’s daughter.

She could not deny that this was the fact.

At that moment, Lily looked at Lyla and asked, “What do you think about this incident?”

“How do I know!”

She shifted her gaze to the television screen, Mark Pattinson was holding Gretel and walked into the hospital. From the look behind, their silhouettes were pleasing to behold.

“Why do I always think the young girl looks familiar?” Lily thought to herself. At that instant, she could not think of anyone in her mind yet.

Seeing her thinking hard, Lyla opened her mouth and said, “I go to the washroom for a while!” Before Lily managed to speak up, she had already turned herself and walked away.

It was hard to say, she might be able to see her through.

Looking at Lyla’s silhouette from behind, the crease between Lily’s eyebrows went deeper…

Inside the washroom, Lyla immediately gave Hansel a call.

The call was picked up very soon.

“Hansel, tell... me... what’s... going... on... now!” Lyla asked, enunciated each and every word clearly.

Hansel held his mobile phone further from his ear. “Mommy, what’s the matter?”

“What’s the matter? Don’t play dumb, you know what I’m talking about!” Lyla said.

The two siblings often behaved mysteriously. How could he not know about Gretel’s movement when in fact, he could be the mastermind behind her action.

Lyla had no doubt about that!

Hansel hesitated for a moment, then he opened his mouth and said, “Mommy, you leave us no choice!”

“What do you mean?!”

“Gretel and I are doing this for your own good!”

“For my own good?” Lyla frowned. “What do you mean by this?”

“Following the exposure of Kathleen Turner’s scandal, Daddy will surely put off their marriage. However, he is reluctant to show up yet. As such, Gretel and I are worried about him and Gretel decided to look for him, also to test his feelings for you. Who would have thought Daddy would bring her to the hospital and expose her in front of the reporters. This is an accident…” Hansel said.

Lyla was fuming but did not know how to reply to him.

“Do you still have that thing with you?” Lyla was deeply infuriated, but still, she did not want to admit defeat in their argument.

Hansel said, “…Mommy, don’t be a worrywart. Nothing will happen for sure!”

Lyla was in a dilemma of whether to trust him or not. Nonetheless, Hansel had never failed to live up to his words, as such, she was more or less convinced by him.

Lyla hung up the phone.

Looking at herself in the mirror, how could she not feel worried about it.

“To visit someone!”

Inside the ward, seeing Mark Pattinson enter the room, Erica immediately walked forward and said, “Mark...” When she saw him holding a child’s hand, she was a little stunned.

She blinked her eyes. “Who is she…?”

‘Hopefully, she’s not Mark Pattinson’s illegitimate child,’ Erica Thomson thought to herself. It was very common for her to think in that way.

Their understanding of Mark Pattinson’s was only skin-deep. But if he were to have any secret plots, no one could see him through.

Mark Pattinson glanced at Gretel briefly, he did not bother to explain himself.

Gretel smiled as she said, “I’m Gretel, nice to meet you!”

“What’s your relationship with him?” Erica Thomson asked.

Gretel did not answer her question immediately. Instead, she raised her head and looked at Mark Pattinson.

Mark Pattinson frowned and gave a frustrated look, he stared at Erica Thomson and asked, “What are you suspecting at?”

Erica Thomson's expression had changed slightly. Apparently, he was mocking Kathleen Turner for committing the scandalous act behind his back.

As he heard of this, Mark Pattinson smirked in sarcasm. He could easily tell if the photos have been photoshopped or not.

Despite thinking it out loud, he did not say it out. He sniggered. “Ms. Turner, don’t be so agitated. I haven’t said a word yet!”

Erica Thomson looked embarrassed. “I don’t want your relationship to be ruined!”

“Don’t worry. I know what’s going on!” Mark Pattinson said calmly.

At that moment, Kathleen Turner walked in. When she saw Mark Pattinson, her eyes turned red instantly. “Mark, you’re here?”

Mark Pattinson looked at her but did not say anything to her. Kathleen Turner knew that he did not want to bother about her.

She immediately walked over to him, held the corner of his shirt, and wept bitterly. “Mark, are you angry with me? Please don’t be angry with me. You have to trust me. I didn’t do that. That person is not me, she’s not me!”
