Chapter Eighty-Three: Waking Up

Tillie

Running my tongue over the inside of my mouth, I grimaced. My mouth was so dry it felt like I had eat en cotton. I needed to brush my teeth and get a drink of water.

My body felt sore in places I had never felt sore before. It felt like I had been hit by a car or maybe a re ally big truck.

I was overly warm, but that was pretty normal for when I slept over at Jake’s. There was something dif ferent though. I felt strangely more at ease than I could ever remember feeling before. I wanted to bask in that feeling, to let it soak through every part of me.

Reaching out for Jake, my hand moved over his chest. Stopping on a hard little loop. That wasn’t nor mal. I patted his chest, Jake didn’t have a nipple ring. He was too vanilla for something like that.

My eyes snapped open and I remembered that Jake had rejected me. That we weren’t together any more because he had cheated on me.

The events of the night crashed around me as I looked at Ryan and Travis. It was Jason’s body that was warm against mine and theirs.

They were the heat that was making me feel like I was lying on heating pads. I stiffened, I had slept with three men last night and they were definitely not my boyfriend.

| tensed up, worrying about how they would feel about me now that it was the next day. How they would feel about me now that they knew that I couldn’t keep up with them.

Shaking my head, I tried not to think about it. I didn’t want to think about it.

Light spilled into the room, it was dimmed by the dark curtains that hung over the windows. Strips of it were painted over the walls, making it all soft and glowy in the room, but it was still a reminder that the night was over. That things were real. That now that we’d had our night of fun, they might not want me.

I looked at Travis’ chest with my hand resting on it, the nipple ring still beneath my fingers. He was so calm when he was asleep. There was none of that fire to him now.

His face was relaxed with sleep, his lips parted. Long, dark lashes splayed over his cheeks. His normal ly slicked back hair was messy, covering the side of his face and his neck. He looked so much younger than he had yesterday at the club. It made me wonder just how old he was? How old all of them were?

Ryan was behind him, his leg thrown over Travis’ hip as he sprawled out in sleep. His foot touched the back of my calf. His dark curls were wild around his face. The morning sunlight brought out those vivid col ors that I had seen in his hair last night. It looked soft to the touch and I wanted to reach my hand out, to see how soft those curls would feel. His lips were parted and his soft snores filled the room.

Normally, that would annoy me but right now it didn’t bother me. I found it oddly cute.

Just thinking about it made my body clench up, the tension made my belly ache and I knew that couldn’t give in to that feeling right now. I was too sore.

Travis muttered something in his sleep again, his face turning away from mine. His hair fell back against the pillow and it felt like my heart stopped beating.

There was a bite mark on the side of his neck that hadn’t been there before. It looked like the ones that they had left on my body.

They had told me those marks meant that they had claimed me as theirs. But what did it mean now that Travis had the same mark on his neck?

Author’s note: Sorry about the delay on the chapter, yesterday I got to hang out with the amazing Maria Warren while our kiddos ran wild. If you’re looking for a super steamy DARK read, go show some love to her book Their Broken Doll (so good, y’all)! We had too much sun with the kiddos and mine were worn out after wards, but so was I. I will be writing up the next chapter ASAP. Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

xoxo,

Jane
