Chapter 97 

The incident happened in the blink of an eye. As Ted accidentally bumped into the microphone, his voice echoed through the entire hall. 

A heavy silence descended on the room. Everyone turned their attention to the stage, and murmurs began to spread. 

“Isn’t that Ted? Why is he calling every woman his mom?” 

“Kids just want their parents to be great. My little rascal even complains that I’m not a superhero,” 

“Kids can act out at home, but calling other people’s moms in public? That’s a bit much…” 

The crowd muttered, occasionally casting glances toward Mick. After all, this was an issue of family discipline. 

But Mick made no move to stop it. His gaze was deep, and there was a storm of complicated emotions swirling in his eyes. 

According to his plan, Nadia would show up in her best attire today. The three of them would go up on stage, and he would invite her to dance. After the dance, he would invite her home. 

It would be his biggest concession. Nadia would take the opportunity, and everything would 

be fine. 

But Mona, in a fit of jealousy, had stolen the dress. 

If Nadia was mocked for her clown costume, he had planned to wait until it was all over and then talk to her, offering her a way out. 

He didn’t expect that Nadia would not only avoid the disdain of the high–society wives but instead win over the children with her little magic tricks, leaving the women eager to befriend 

her. 

He saw a business opportunity in this, but he didn’t know how to approach Nadia without seeming too obvious. That was why he hadn’t made any moves yet. 

Now, Ted had caused a scene, and it actually solved his problem. 

He slowly got up and walked toward the stage. “Ted, let go.” 

At this moment, Ted was so desperate that he refused to let go of Nadia’s clothes. “No! This is my mom. I won’t let anyone take her away!” 

Norman, frustrated, put his hands on his hips. “You’re the one who didn’t want your mom! Of course, she doesn’t want you now!” 

Ted gritted his teeth, but he didn’t dare let go and start a fight. He was afraid Nadia might run 

away. 

When the two kids argued, no one really paid attention. They thought it was just typical child behavior. However, the next moment, a voice rang out, clear and commanding. 

“Ted, let go. This will make mommy uncomfortable.” 

The room fell silent once more. It was as though everyone had just been force–fed a huge piece of gossip. People’s mouths hung open in shock. 

At that moment, Nadia slowly pulled a lollipop out of her pocket, holding it in front of Ted. Her tone was calm. 

“All I can give you is this.”
