the seat next to Ethan.
Murmurs rippled through the crowd.
“That influencer is bold, sitting right next to Ethan Carter.”
“Isn’t she afraid he’ll blacklist her?”
“Shhh, you
don’t know anything! Heard she has a powerful backer. Ever
seen all the designer stuff in her live streams?”
Before Amelia could look away, Chloe reached out and placed Ethan’s hand
under her dress.
Ethan froze, about to pull away, but Chloe held his hand, moving it
rhythmically.
He stopped resisting.
Amelia turned sharply, clenching her trembling hands.
She barely registered the rest of the auction until the final item appeared,
drawing gasps and whispers from the crowd.

Sensing Amelia’s interest, Ethan raised his paddle.

A female voice beside him called out, “Three million!”

“Fifteen million!”
Finally, Ethan made a gesture. The auctioneer hammered the gavel excitedly.
“Sky’s the limit! Mr. Carter has lit the sky!”
“Congratulations, Mr. Carter, on winning the ‘Heart of True Love‘!”
