His eyebrows were knitted together, his eyes blazing with fury, fixed on me,
as if he wanted to tear me apart.
His mouth twisted with rage, each word spat out through gritted teeth, laced
with venomous hatred.
The alcohol stung the area where he had slapped me, like countless tiny
knives slicing through my wounds. Pain surged through me, my face contorted,
tears mixing with the mud on my cheeks.
My scream reverberated through the dilapidated hallway, filled with pain
and despair, a cry from the depths of my soul.
But John was unmoved, his eyes cold and resolute.“You want a divorce, I’ll
grant you one!” he declared.
His words were like an icy verdict, announcing the irrevocable end of our
relationship.
He waved his hand dismissively, his arm cutting through the air, as if trying
to erase me from his world.“You’ll never see Lily again!”

His words were like icy needles, piercing my already wounded heart, adding
fresh scars.
He frowned in disgust, wiping his hands on a bodyguard’s clothes, his
movements rough and hasty, as if his hands were contaminated.
Then, he grabbed his phone, his fingers expertly dialing a number, calling
his assistant.
While waiting for the call to connect, he paced impatiently in the hallway,
his hurried footsteps echoing, filling the space with tension.
‘Call the police, search the entire city if you have to, find my daughter, she’s
with Amelia!” he roared into the phone, his voice loud enough to shatter the
device. His eyes were wide and bloodshot, like an enraged beast eager to tear its
prey apart.
“And get a lawyer to draft a divorce agreement now, I want full custody of
Lily! I won’t let her continue her reckless behavior!”
His expression was horrible, his lips tightly pressed together, channeling all
his anger through these words.
The veins on his forehead bulged, like writhing earthworms, highlighting
his rage.
The person on the other end of the phone was intimidated by his outburst,

The voice came through the phone, faint and trembling, like a ghost from a
distant place.
“Mr. Miller, your daughter… she’s passed away, she was cremated… the night
you and Ms. Raina were at the business function. She was hit by a motorcycle.”
The assistant paused, anticipating his reaction, then continued, “Since I
couldn’t reach you, I took the liberty of arranging a burial plot for Lily. Today is
her funeral…”
John’s face, previously filled with anger, was now replaced with disbelief, as
if struck by lightning.
His eyes widened, his mouth agape in shock.
He stood there, frozen, like a statue caught in time.
After a moment, he snapped out of his trance, like a beast awakened from a
nightmare, interrupting the assistant with a roar,“Who died? Are you crazy? How
dare you curse my daughter, do you want to die?”
His voice boomed through the hallway, echoing in every corner.
His voice became hoarse and sharp, like sandpaper scraping against metal,
each syllable laced with disbelief and fury.
