If Flynn was like Winston, willing to work hard for his own future, how could he possibly drift apart from Queenie?
The painting I was working on was called Lonior's Peony. The entire composition was grand and magnificent, with gorgeous bright colors. It was one of my favorite designs in the Dreamlight project. That was why I exerted more effort than the two paintings before.
After painting for a long time, my neck started to ache from fatigue. I looked up and saw that it was already pitch-black outside. The heavy rain had turned into a drizzle, streaming down the window glass slowly.
The room was very quiet. Besides me, only Winston was still around. He was about seven to eight yards away from me.
However, he wasn't painting. Instead, he was sitting in his chair, his arms folded over the back of the chair. He was resting his chin on his arm while staring at me without blinking.
He was about six feet tall and had a slender body. He was in a white pants and shirt, which made him look youthful and handsome, but his eyes looked a little intimidating.
"What's up? Your stare is scary." I moved my stiff neck and asked him.
He parted his lips and showed a wide smile. "It's nothing. I just think you're pretty. The more I look, the more difficult it is to get my eyes off of you."
I could only blush.
What should I do after being teased by a junior?
I picked up a pen cap from the table and threw it at him, feeling annoyed and embarrassed at the same time. "Shut up, or I'll punch you for talking nonsense."
Winston, like a shameless rascal, caught the pen cap with his hand and walked over to me. "Lulu, your face is red. Are you feeling embarrassed?"
I dodged his hand that was reaching out to me and angrily slapped his hand away. "Get lost, brat. Show some respect. You're not allowed to joke with me like that."
So, his behavior today caught me off guard and made me very uncomfortable.
"Winston, I don't like this way of communication. Jinovy is so big, but it isn't easy to make friends. I don't want to lose a good friend." I lifted my head and looked at him seriously.
I could never develop romantic feelings for him in this lifetime. So, I had to make it clear to him earlier before he could invest his emotions. I didn't want him to end up with bitterness and resentment.
His smile froze on his face, slowly disappearing. The light in his eyes also diminished as time passed.
I didn't know how long it took, but he smiled again and reached up to comb through his hair. Then, he pinched his own cheek before showing a serious expression. "I'm sorry, I didn't know it would make you feel this way. It was my fault.
"We've known each other for some time, but there are some things that need to be said to clear things up. I can accept whatever you think and whatever you say. At least, there won't be any regrets in the future."
