Extreme fear struck me again. My vision went black, and I began to tremble. My legs were so weak that I nearly collapsed.

Felix didn't notice anything strange about me. Instead, he stared at the coat in his hand and smiled self-deprecatingly. "Don't be afraid. I just don't want you getting a cold. After all, getting medicine is costly."

I slowly opened my eyes.

Felix was in Lilac's arms. There were many dark marks on his light-colored suit. One side of his forehead was bruised and bleeding. Blood snaked across his face, making him look like a ghastly ghost in the darkness.

Colin helped me into the car and fastened my seat belt. Then, he got in from the other side, started the car, and drove away.

Lilac's voice sounded behind. "Luna, I won't let you go!"

In the rearview mirror, I saw her help Felix stand up, his injured body swaying. He kept waving away her hands, which sought to clean his blood, and stubbornly looked in the direction we were leaving.

Perhaps it was an illusion, but I noticed his eyes were filled with sadness, which looked ridiculous.
