She would leave. Hera thought to herself as she watched Bryce sleep peacefully that night, draped in his arms just like he did like every other night.

That was the only solution to this problem. She wouldn't stay and she definitely wouldn't wait for him to find out and get angry at her. This is what's best for everyone. Maybe she'd tell him about it when she was somewhere safe, somewhere he couldn't reach her so that she wouldn't have to deal with his anger should in case he snaps. In the meantime, she just had to figure out a way to get out of here and quickly.

Pulling herself away from Bryce's arms, she slowly made her way outside the bedroom and down the stairs to the living room. She walked out to the balcony at the left wing of the house and stood there, thinking.

Too many things were at stake and she doesn't know exactly how to handle it. Wrapping her hands instinctively around her stomach, she threw her face out the open sky. Was this the biggest test of her life? There's no way on earth she'd ever be able to overcome this now.

Maybe she should call sister Martha. But if she did, what would she say and how would she tell her? She really needed someone to talk to. Someone to tell her that everything will be alright.

Holding that thought, she dialled her number and placed it to her eyes. With every ring, she felt her breath shorten and her heart beating fast. What if Martha finds out. Well, it was too late to back out now so she'd just go through with it.

"Hera my child." Came sister Martha's voice. Although her voice sounded comforting, it still didn't shake off the guilt and restlessness that she had been feeling all morning. "Why are you up so late my dear?"

"Sister Martha." She willed her voice to stay strong. If she so much as breaks down then everyone would be worried. "I missed you and i just wanted to talk to you even if it's for a short while." She confessed sadly.

"You know that you can always call me anytime my child. I'm always here for you." Her voice came through the other end and Hera nodded to her words as though she could see her.

"How is everyone over there? And my sister? I feel like it's been ages since i last spoke to all of you." She asked, another wave of guilt washing over her when she realized that her decision to leave might also affect Christina's future. God! Why did you have to let this happen now of all time?

"Christina is fast asleep." She answered. "She has been busy all day trying to finish up her lessons. The exams are starting soon and she wants to be prepared."

Hera couldn't hold it in anymore and the next thing she knew, she was already balling her eyes out.

"My child, are you okay? Talk to me Hera. You're getting me really worried now." Martha pestered frantically. Her tiny hiccups and sudden outburst had gotten to her as soon as she heard it.

"Hera?" She called again when she didn't respond to the first call.

"I'm not okay sister Martha." She blurred out in tears. "I'm not okay and i don't know what to do. I'm trying to figure it out myself but it's just too hard. I want to come back home."

"Did something happen with Bryce? Did he do something wrong?"

She shook her head and went further to wipe her tears aggressively but they wouldn't stop falling. "No it's not Bryce. He doesn't even know what's going on and i can't bring myself to tell him sister Martha. He will hate me and I don't want him to."

"Can you tell me what's going on? At least talk to me." She urged.

"I want to come back home." She insisted. "I can't bring myself to tell you over the phone. It's too big a burden, even for me. Please let me come back home tomorrow."

"And is Bryce aware that you're taking such a trip back home all by yourself. He'd get worried you know."

And that's why she couldn't tell him. He's fond of her and he would get worried. And if he does then she'd have no other option but to stay and if she stays then he would find out. It's too big of a risk.

"He doesn't know and i don't want to tell him." She answered. "I just need a few days alone to myself and i can't do that if he's aware of my coming."

"I understand my child. You can come home." She permitted. "This is also your place and you're free to come back whenever you want to."

She sniveled. Her emotions were all over the place and she doesn't know why. "Thank you. I'll be leaving tomorrow morning and hopefully i would get there before dusk."
