"Mr. Gulliford, isn't it great now that she's gone? She can still survive before Old Mr. Gulliford does anything to her. You know him well. Mr. Gulliford, I think you should behave yourself. Don't piss Old Mr. Gulliford off, or he will do something to her. In that case, it'll be too late to let her go by then."
Gabriel had been staying by Trevor's side since the latter was young. As a result, Gabriel knew him well, and so the former deliberately made everything clear to him.
Trevor said nothing. Leaning on the car seat, he sank into deep thought. His mind was filled with the images of Jessica.
"She has left me. Has she left me alone here?" he pondered.
Following that, none of them spoke in the car. It wasn't until the car arrived at the Gulliford family mansion that it stopped.
Trevor sat in a wheelchair that had been prepared beforehand and was pushed into the mansion.
"Are you okay?"
Bennett was the first one who walked over to him. Looking at him, Bennett still found it hard to call him Dad. Despite that, he was worried about his father.
"I'm fine. Bennett, don't worry about me. I'm strong. Nothing bad will happen."
The smile that had long gone on Trevor's face appeared again in front of Bennett.
Trevor wanted to tell Bennett that he was injured to save Jessica, which was why he didn't feel the pain, but in the end, Trevor held his tongue.
There were a lot of people in the Gulliford family mansion, so he thought it would be better not to let them know about Jessica's real identity.
"Let me check your pulse."
After speaking, Bennett placed his hand on Trevor's wrist to check the latter's pulse.
Seeing Bennett's attentiveness, Trevor subconsciously thought about the former's mother, and soon after, his heart sank.
He had to find her no matter what. Even if he had to spend the rest of his life, Trevor couldn't let her
disappearfrom his life.
"Jessica, you can't leave like this!" Trevor mused.
"There's nothing serious. I'll prescribe some medicine for you. You'll feel better after taking it."
Bennett spoke with a smile, his mind still on Trevor's wrist.
Having lived together for quite some time, Bennet suddenly felt that this man was not that annoying.
As long as she stands there, she can exude elegance."
Trevor thought he would never forget Jessica's charismatic look.
He recalled the moment she called him "Mr. Guliford".
Not every other woman could look that calm even if they put on an act.
"Do you like my mommy?"
Bennett suddenly felt curious. Perhaps, every child was interested in knowing about their parents' past.
"More than that!" Trevor couldn't help but mock himself as he spat that out. "I have an infatuation with her."
His feelings for Jessica couldn't be simply described by a word or two.
During the year he first met her, he thought about her every night to the extent that he couldn't fall asleep.
Needless to say, he still couldn't have a good night's sleep all these years. The only two times he managed to fall asleep were with her by his side.
