Martin did not believe that Trevor would lose his temper with Jessica.

"How can Mr. Gulliford bear to do so?"

"Can you tell me what interesting things have happened to Bennett in the past three years?"

Jessica only cared about Bennett. There was nothing else she wanted from Martin.

Martin shook his head. "I'm not too sure about this, but I can tell you a secret."

"What secret?"

Jessica's eyebrows furrowed slightly as she leaned closer to him.

"Mr. Bennett is not interested in romance even in school. There is little hope for you if you wish to become Mr. Gulliford's daughter-in-law. However, there's still some hope for you if you want to be Mr. Gulliford's wife."

Martin pretended to be mulling over her question seriously. In actuality, Jessica did not merely have

some hope. If she voluntarily talked a little more with Trevor, Trevor would be beside himself with joy.

"I have no interest in that position. I can't work for long in this company as I'm not well-adjusted to the working environment. I've made up my mind to resign."

Jessica stopped stalling and continued walking forward.

"That man... Even if he was not a chairman but a director, I would not want to have any relationship with him. Not at all!" she vowed inwardly.

"Not well-adjusted?"

Martin's heart tightened.

"Oh no. If Mrs. Gulliford wants to run away and quit the company, it will be disastrous. I should tell Mr. Gulliford about it," he thought.

"Yep. I'm not well-adjusted."

Jessica nodded. She did not continue speaking as she walked into the room.

Martin turned around and ran to Trevor. He repeated

Jessica's words to Trevor.

"Not well-adjusted?"

Trevor's eyebrows tightened as his long and elegant fingers curled into a fist. Worry was evident in his eyes.

"Why is she not well-adjusted to it? Is she too tired?

Or does she think that the pay is too little?"

He spoke anxiously. If he was not afraid of scaring her away, he would have run toward her and asked her what she was dissatisfied with gently.

"All right. Don't think too much. We've got a home tutor already. Furthermore, the children are very well-behaved. You don't have to worry about them."

"Thank you, Yolanda."

Jessica nodded. Other things aside, she was extremely proud of her children.

"Stay safe and well, Jessica."

Yolanda's tone changed suddenly as worry was reflected in her eyes.

The death anniversary of Jessica's mother was occurring the next day. In the past, when they were overseas, Yolanda would be unable to find Jessica on the death anniversaries of Jessica's mother.

"Yep. I'm hanging up. All of you should rest early."

Jessica hung up and a sour emotion swelled up in her heart. She could guess Yolanda's intention for saying those words.

She inhaled deeply, stood up, went out of the room, and wanted to drink a cup of wine.

At first, she was drunk. After video-calling her children, she sobered up.

Now, she wanted to get thoroughly drunk and wasted so that she could forget about the fact that her

mother had passed on.
