"Hey did you hear about this new online dating site?" Melissa my best friend and roommate asked me, as she walked into my office.
"No," I said with a lack of interest, not looking up from my computer.
"Am going to sign us up" she said in excitement ignoring my answer.
"You wouldn't dare I growled, looking up at her with a mock glare.
"Watch me," she said with a twinkle in her eyes, walking away from the room.
"Melissa, you better not sign me up for any online dating crap or am gonna whoop your ass" I hurled at her.
She stopped at the entrance "please spank me mistress" she teased in an erotic voice, sticking her ass out. I gave her a disgusting look while shaking my head at her. She laughed and exited my office.
"A question," she said pumping her head back, "what's your type?"
"Type? I asked with an arched brow, giving her a confused look. She rolled her eyes at my daftness, "when it comes to guys." she said as if speaking to a child.
"Why?" I asked giving her a suspicious look. "For curious minds," she said rolling her eyes again. "Whose curious mind," I asked again, wanting to irritate her.
"For god's sake will you answer the damn question!" she cried harshly.
I laughed at her having succeeded.
"No," I said and laughed louder at the aggrieved look she gave me. "Don't blame me when they hook you up with an ugly looking dude" she threatened and left.
"Melissa, you better not sign me up for any shit" I shouted after her.
"So I signed us up in the new site," Melissa said to me during lunch.
"Melissssssa!!!" I groaned dropping my head on the table.
"Don't Melissa me, you should be thanking me."
I gave her a dark look, "please explain to me why I should be grateful for you signing me up in a site for a date with a guy I never met who could be a creep for all we know"
"Well, you should be grateful because you wouldn't be spending your ass alone in your apartment on Friday night while your mates are out having fun."
"I don't need an ass site to get myself a date," I said with a huff getting back to my food.
"When was the last time you went on date or even looked," she asked, obviously knowing the answer.
I just concentrated on my meal ignoring her.
Her phone pinged indicating a message, several messages as the sound went off repeatedly.
She brought it out and looked at it. "Oh my God!," she cried out loud, looking at her phone with wide eyes.
"What is it? I asked curiously, itching forward to see her phone, "did you win the lottery?" I teased.
She gave me a duh look, "I didn't apply for the lottery, " was her sarcastic response.
"Then what's making you so excited?" I asked with an eye roll.
"The dating site just matched me with someone, wanna see, " she said in an excited voice.
At her words I relaxed back in my seat and collected the phone she showed towards me. I looked at the picture, "he is hot I said staring at the image of the man on her phone."
"I know" she answered excitedly.
"You know this picture could be fake right!" I said giving her back the phone.
"There is only one way to find out, I will set up a date with him this evening, she said with a twinkle in her eyes.
"What!" I exclaimed, at words giving her are you insane look.
" And you are coming with me."
"What! I exclaimed again, hold on I interrupted when she wanted to continue her insane talk, "why am I coming with you?, I don't have a date."
"Yes you do," she said happily, smiling at me, "the app also matched you and I have already set up the date," she said showing me her phone.
I groaned with a head drop on the table. "What have I gotten into?" I moaned.
" Don't be so dramatic, and I told the guys to meet us at that bar close to our apartment.
"Melissa," I said rubbing my forehead as I could feel the onset of a headache. "Am not going on date with someone I have never met, the guy could be a creep for all we know."
"That's why we are meeting in a bar and I promised if they are creeps we will leave immediately," she said indulgently.
"How will you know if they are creeps?"
She rolled her eyes at me, "I don't, is just something I said to comfort you."
It was my turn to roll my eyes at her.
