Lizetta’s eyelashes fluttered, but she could hear him, his lips barely grazing hers, as he asked with a slow, teasing smile.

She had no idea he could be so playful; they had never flirted like this before. 

Admitting to herself, Lizetta realized she was naïve and unexperienced; his teasing had her heart melting. 

Her eyes sparkled with a shy desire, too embarrassed to speak. She simply lifted her hand to wrap around Remington’s neck, tilting her head up and parting her lips in silent invitation. 

She was telling him, she liked it, thrilled even. 

And she wanted more. 

Remington’s breathing turned ragged, his hand on the back of Lizetta’s head tensed, ready to deepen their connection. 

Suddenly, the door to the hospital room burst open. 

“Remington, I heard Liz…” 

At the doorway, Fiona led the way, with Hanna following closely behind, accompanied by two servants. They all froze, eyes wide with shock. 

It was a déjà vu moment. 

Facing embarrassment twice in the same place on the same day was something Lizetta had never anticipated. 

Her face turned scarlet, wishing she could just disappear. 

However, Fiona’s reaction was clearly different from Cedric and the doctor who had discreetly closed the door earlier. 

Before Lizetta.could even react, Fiona charged in, cane in hand, and fury on her face. “I knew you were up to no good, forcing Liz like this! Did you drag her back from the airport? Are you planning to force her into having your kids, keep her trapped with a baby to tie her down? Get away from her, what kind of monster has the Dashiell family raised 

With that, Fiona swung her cane, hitting Remington on the back, then grabbed his collar, trying to pull him away. 

Remington, helpless and worried she might hurt herself in her old age, cooperated and sat up, sighing, “Grandma, I didn’t” 

Lizetta, her face still beet–red, sheepishly sat up as well. 

Yet, deep down, she thought Fiona’s accusations weren’t entirely off base. 

She blamed her own foolishness for falling for his tricks and being lured back.

Hanna rushed forward, trying to stop Fiona from hitting aga 

She had just managed to annoy Remington by being med away at the door, and informed Fiona about the situation, hoping Fional would scold Lizetta a bit. 

Ideally, to send Lizetta abroad and smooth over any complictions with their divorce. 

But Flona’s heart seemed entirely on Lizetta’s side, not only refraining from scolding her but also turning to berate Remington fiercely. 

“He’s a grown man; it’s his fault for not protecting his wife. So what if he gets burt for her? Look, he’s fine, still full of life and bothering Liz without considering the situation, Fiona said, her lips pursed in displeasure at Hanna. 

Lizetta’s cheeks blushed even deeper at Fiona’s harsh words. 

Sitting up hastily from the bed, she avoided eye contact, trying to fix her hair. 

Glancing at Remington, she silently urged him to say something, anything to ease the tension. 

To her surprise. Remington simply raised, an eyebrow and agreed with his grandmother 

“Grandma, you are right. I didn’t protect my wife well enough; I deserved that hit.” 

His words left Hanna shocked beyond words, and Lizetta even more lost for what to say.
