Lizetta knew that when he mentioned "some people", he was talking about Jerome.

It was almost laughable to her. Remington himself was hell-bent on making up everything to Stella, as if trying to atone for all past mistakes.

Her interactions with Jerome were minimal, yet he acted like a jealous husband at the slightest hint of closeness between them.

Tugging her lips, she wanted to call him out for his hypocrisy.

But she was leaving to avoid dragging anyone else into her mess, which was why she reached out to Jerome.

Jerome had offered to help, and she already felt indebted to him. She worried that after she left, Remington might take his frustrations out on Jerome.

So, facing Remington's intense gaze and commanding tone, she hesitated before pressing down her emotions, simply saying.

"You mean Mr. Madden? We've just met a few times. The last time he sent flowers, it was meant for all the dancers, just a boss's gesture. It was only because I'm pregnant and in a special situation that everyone decided to give their flowers to me. You're reading too much into it."

Remington's features softened slightly, seeing her attempt at an explanation. But, as a man, his territorial instincts were innate. He could sense threats from his rivals instantly.

Jerome’s intention could be seen through by Remington. Did Jerome really need to be personally in charge of a not so important dance troupe, given the numerous industries the Madden Group had been involved in?

These thoughts Remington kept to himself, preferring Lizetta in the dark.

He raised his hand, gently ran his fingers through Lizetta's hair and steered the car back onto the road, saying, "Jerome was adopted by the Madden family, but he earned Nelson's complete trust and approval. Ever wondered why?"

Lizetta was stunned, "What? He's not the current head of the Madden Group? And he's adopted?"

Seeing her surprise, Remington couldn't help but sneer inwardly. Was Jerome keeping that a secret on purpose?

"The Madden family was built from the ground up by Nelson, who was deeply in love with his wife. They had one precious daughter, Elsa, who brought her husband into the family.

Lizetta felt breathless under his intense gaze and turned away, saying, "Focus on the road!"

Remington looked ahead, eventually steering the conversation back, "Florence is haughty and tyrannical. A couple of years ago, the actress Kimberley was linked with Jerome twice, leading to Florence blacklisting her."

Lizetta had enjoyed Kimberley's work and was a fan. Suddenly, Kimberley was plagued by scandals, labeled a mistress, and shamed publicly, disappearing quickly from the limelight.

Lizetta's eyes widened, and she turned to Remington, her curiosity ablaze.

"What's the truth then? Were Kimberley and Jerome really an item? And were those scandals about Kimberley true? And since Kimberley doesn’t act, where's she now? She isn’t hidden away by Jerome, is she?"

Remington had no idea about the truth; he felt she was missing the point. He tapped the steering wheel lightly, saying blandly, "In any case, Jerome is taken. Keeping your distance is for your own good."

"OK, got it," Lizetta replied nonchalantly. She wasn't close with Jerome, and besides, she was about to leave the country. Remington was worrying over nothing.
