Remington had always been Cassius's ride-or-die, but he'd never seen Remington this messed up before. Naturally, he was going to stand by his brother.
But Yolanda wasn't having any of it. She spun around, grabbed Cassius, and started shoving him towards the door, fuming.
"Even if Remington turns into a complete nutcase, what's it got to do with Liz? He should be knocking on WestHawthorne's door, not Liz's! She didn't ask him to go out to the boonies! Now get out of here."
Cassius, though pushed, wasn't ready to back down. He looked at Lizetta, frowning.
"Sis, you really have nothing to say?"
Thinking about the years of camaraderie between Lizetta and Remington, and how Lizetta used to care so much about him, Cassius figured she’d soften up.
Yet, in her hospital bed, Lizetta didn't even blink. She just said coldly,
"Then please let him know not every self-sacrifice works."
"Did you hear that? Go let badass Remington give up, get out!"
Yolanda kept pushing, and Cassius clung to the door, "Sis, you got it all wrong, it's not a stunt! And it wasn't Remington who sent me..."
Yolanda, now livid, let go of Cassius, took a step back, and aimed a kick at him.
She intended to boot the man straight out but Cassius, having sparred with her before, dodged at the last second, then accurately grabbed Yolanda's leg.
So, while Cassius did end up leaving, Yolanda also got dragged out of the room with him.
"Let go! You're supposed to be a movie star, for heaven's sake. Holding a woman's leg and not letting go in public, have some shame!"
Yolanda, with one leg in Cassius's grip, hopped on the other.
Back in the room, Lizetta tried to catch some sleep but couldn't, maybe due to the sudden silence. Feeling sore all over, she slowly got out of bed and found herself outside the nursery.
She looked through the glass at the tiny, soft, adorable babies.
A young couple was there, looking at their newborn, the husband wrapping his arms around his wife's shoulders, discussing baby names.
The woman, noticing Lizetta, smiled and asked, "How old is your baby? Which one is yours? My daughter is the one over there, punching the air..."
She stopped mid-sentence as she noticed the tear streaks on Lizetta's face.
The woman was taken aback, her husband sensing the tension, shook his head at her, signaling to leave quietly.
Lizetta stood there, motionless, until a warm and broad palm reached from behind, covering her eyes.
