Liz brushed off Remington's hand like she'd been zapped, straightening up but with the tips of her ears hidden beneath her messy hair warming slightly. She couldn't tell if the blush was from the awkward encounter or his words just moments ago. But she was definitely not pleased with her reaction.

Frowning, she looked up to stare at the back of Cedric's head, about to demand an explanation when he glanced in the rearview mirror, his voice laced with panic and apology.

"Ma'am, I'm so sorry about that. Some rich kid in a sports car was weaving through traffic like a maniac, nearly caused us to rear-end him twice. My apologies, are you alright?"

Seeing the genuine worry and regret in Cedric's eyes, Liz couldn't help but feel like she'd accidentally hopped into a dodgy ride.

Before she could say anything, Remington coldly interjected, "If you can't drive, consider your bonus gone!"

Cedric trembled, "Yes, sir."

What else could Liz say? Fortunately, they were slowly pulling into an upscale neighborhood. Soon, the car stopped in front of a three-story villa. Remington got out, "This is it. It's chilly outside; stay in the car. I'll go have a look."

After telling Liz, he closed the car door behind him. Liz turned to look at the villa. There were lights on the first floor, but she couldn't see any cars parked around. She wasn't sure if Cassius had brought Yolanda here.

Wrapping her trench coat tighter around her, she followed suit and got out of the car. Whether Yolanda was here or not, Liz was done with sketchy rides.

Saying this nonchalantly, Liz turned to walk towards her own car when Remington said, "The Madden family's driver isn't familiar with the area, and it's rush hour. Let me drive you home."

Just then, a car slowly approached, its headlights briefly illuminating Liz's face, revealing the handsome man behind the wheel. She was slightly surprised, a smile curving on her lips as she quickened her pace to meet the approaching car.

Remington, recognizing the newcomer as Jerome, abruptly reached out, grabbing Liz's wrist as she passed by. She frowned and looked back.

"Let go, my brother Jerome is here to pick me up. Really, Mr. Dashiell, there's no need to trouble yourself."
