Liz was momentarily stunned, her gaze sharpening as she focused intently on the scene before her. The baby's face was flushed and scrunched up in discomfort, tears streaming down his cheeks, yet Liz instantly recognized him. It was the same baby she had seen earlier in the restaurant.

As she stood there in shock, the baby seemed to recognize her too, reaching out with his tiny hand to grab a strand of Liz's hair.

"What are you doing?!" The woman holding the baby turned around and glared at Liz, evidently recognizing her as well. After all, a woman as striking as Liz was hard to forget.

"Why is it you again, meddling in other people's business!" Anna huffed as she took a couple of steps to the side, the baby still clutching a strand of Liz's hair. By now, the baby had stopped crying, his little body trembling slightly as if in a seizure.

A sharp pain shot through Liz's scalp, and her heart mirrored the same intensity of ache. Due to the woman's sudden movement, Liz's long hair was being pulled, making it difficult for her to lift her head.

Remington's expression darkened, and he quickly stepped forward, reaching out to free Liz's hair from the baby's grasp. Catching sight of him out of the corner of her eye, Liz urgently said, "Don't hurt the baby, just check what's wrong with him!"

Remington's piercing gaze settled on the woman holding the baby. "Stay put!" he commanded. The woman paled under his intimidating stare and recognized the man as Remington, a figure of significant authority.

Remington carefully handed the baby over to Liz, who instinctively coordinated with him. As Remington passed the baby to her, she held him securely in her arms. Remington then swiftly escorted them toward the emergency room, calling for a doctor in a firm voice.

Meanwhile, Anna stood there, dumbfounded, unable to process what had just happened. "Isn't that the kid's mother? How could she just hand her child over to strangers like that?" "That baby must belong to that young couple. I mean, look at him; he doesn't look anything like her." "But didn't she tell them to mind their own business? It seemed like she didn't know them."

The crowd around them buzzed with speculation, and someone nudged Anna. "Your kid's been taken, and you're not going after them?" Only then did Anna snap out of her daze, hurriedly reaching for her phone to contact Stella.
