"She might be outside, I'll go have a look."

She knew Remington wasn't usually one to meddle, yet he had helped find a doctor, arranged for a room, and had things sent over, all because she cared for this baby and perhaps because he felt a similar concern.

"Not really, but it feels like fate. We ran into each other at the restaurant earlier..." Lizetta explained.

Remington almost instantly thought of the crushed velvet flower under Lizetta's foot.

Raising an eyebrow, he asked, "So, your mood at the restaurant was because of this baby?"

He withdrew his hand, noting she had been holding the baby for a while and suggested, "The baby's asleep now, you should lay him down on the bed."

Reminded by him, Lizetta realized the ache in her arms and back.

She nodded, "I understand. Please go find the baby's mother."

Lizetta believed such an adorable baby deserved all the love and attention.

Perhaps their actions were too overbearing, or Remington's presence too intimidating, which might have scared the baby's mother from coming in.

She urged Remington to find the child's mother as she gently placed the baby on the bed.
