Remington was still in his office, munching on his lunch, when he got the WhatsApp message from Timothy.

But unlike the simple meal he had snapped a photo of for Lizetta, off-camera, his table was laden with more elaborate dishes.

Served on fine dinnerware, these made the cafeteria meal beside them look even more bland and uninspiring.

Remington was under the weather, and Cedric, being the do-it-all assistant that he was, wouldn't let his boss settle for a mere staff lunch.

He had ordered a light and nutritious meal from a boutique kitchen to help his boss recover.

But when Cedric proudly placed the gourmet meal on the table, Remington asked him to fetch a cafeteria meal instead.

Cedric initially thought the boss had prepared it for him, only to realize it was all for a photo op.

Cedric couldn't help feeling a bit used.

"Do you think Liz will reply and show some concern when she sees the photo?"

Remington was idly flipping through his phone, legs crossed, fingers swiftly scrolling the screen.

He remembered how Lizetta had shown such concern when Zora sent her a photo of Thaddeus's sick meal, even going as far as adjusting the meal plan and sending it back.

Back when Lizetta worked at the Starlight Group, she used to look after his meals personally.

A mere cough from him, and she would rush back to Oakridge Heights to whip up a concoction to soothe his throat, fearing he might fall ill.

This morning his fever was quite high; surely, she was still worried about him and would reach out, right?

"She has to! But why hasn't she replied yet?"

Before Cedric could respond, Remington concluded on his own.

He wouldn't accept any other answer.

"Mrs. Dashiell must be busy and hasn't seen your WhatsApp yet. Didn't she tell you earlier she had plans and couldn't join you for lunch?" Cedric tried to reassure him.

But before he could finish, he noticed Remington's expression darken after checking his phone.

Cedric, curious but cautious, was about to sneak a peek when Remington stood up abruptly and stormed out.

His stride was menacing.

Cedric dared not ask questions, quickly following behind.

Suddenly, Remington stopped and turned, almost causing Cedric to bump into him.

Staggering back, Cedric managed, "Sir?"

Without acknowledging him, Remington picked something up from the sofa and headed out again.

"Just eat, don't waste the food on the table," Remington instructed before disappearing through the office's grand double doors.
