“Go check it out,” Edmund said coldly as he stood up.

The others followed suit, filing into the hall just as Austin’s procession reached the courtyard.

Their gazes flickered over Austin for mere seconds before locking onto the robust bodyguards flanking him.

Jeremy was the first to break the silence. “You finally crawled back. Where the hell have you been?” His tone dripped with the same contempt he had always reserved for Austin, the living stain on his life.

Margot immediately played peacemaker. “Darling, don’t be so harsh. Aus, we’re just glad you’re home. We were about to dine. You and your… friends must join us.”

Edmund’s cane struck the marble floor with a crack. “Explain this, Austin. What is the meaning of bringing them here?”

Samuel snorted, “Isn’t it obvious, Grandpa? The bastard is here to make trouble. He can’t even show basic respect anymore.”
