Irrelevant? Luke felt a sharp pang of pain. He stammered, “Alice, Brother’s always been like that, prideful. You embarrassed him in public; that’s why he’s angry. We’re family! Must we do this?” Alice laughed.“Family? We severed ties. We’re not family. Pretend we’re strangers if we meet again.” 

Jack sped away, giving Luke no chance to speak. Luke sat on the ground, dejected, trying to message Alice, only to realize she’d blocked him. He regretted his words. Ethan stormed out.“Where’s Alice? She embarrassed me in public! I’ll teach her a lesson!”

Luke yanked out his IV, leaving the hospital without changing. He kept calling Alice, but she didn’t answer. He felt a sharp pain in his stomach. “Alice, where are you? Brother’s lost it. Don’t go home. 

Getting out of the car, Alice saw Luke’s message and frowned. “They’ll never understand respect.” 

Jack saw the message and his eyes hardened. “Leaving?” 

“No. If we’re severing ties, let’s do it properly.” She looked determined. “I can handle this myself.” 

“Are you 

sure?” Jack’s face was grim; the Winds were relentless. 

Alice’s gaze was cold.“Yes. Let’s make them see clearly.” She had a plan.“Can I use your computer?” 

Alice sat down and hacked into Lu Corp.’s website. In her past life, an inside man leaked company secrets, almost bankrupting Lu Corp. She’d fixed the system vulnerabilities and found the traitor. The firewall’s source code was hers, to prevent future breaches. This time, she’d reclaim her contribution. 

Jack watched her resolute expression from the doorway, not interrupting. He didn’t know her plan, but if she couldn’t handle it, he would. 

A furious knocking interrupted her. 

She smirked.“Finally.” 

She looked at Jack.“Should you hide?” 

He raised an eyebrow.“Am I so shameful?”

cause trouble, and he might hit you.

Luke’s face paled.“Alice, we’re family! Don’t let a misunderstanding ruin everything.” He couldn’t believe she’d actually sever ties. He panicked after her public announcement.
