Alice smirked. “Yes. You’ll find out after I’m discharged.” 

“Why the secrecy? Just tell us!” 

“Tell you? I was almost killed, and you still don’t believe me!” 

Luke was taken aback.“But you should trust Noah.” 

“To me, you’re all the same. 

Luke changed the subject.“Alice, Noah isn’t doing well. His stomach problems worsened. The doctor says his bad mood made it worse. Go see him.” 

Alice said calmly, “I dreamt about the car accident where our parents died.” 

Luke was startled.“Did you remember anything?” 

“Fragments. And Mom and Dad calling my name. After they died, you all blamed me. If I hadn’t insisted on getting cake for my birthday, the accident wouldn’t have happened.” She’d believed that in her past life and had tried to please her brothers. 

Luke sighed. Those were angry words from childhood. It wasn’t your fault. It was an accident.” 

“Yes, I think so now. Mom and Dad kept calling for me to run in my dream.” Alice wiped her tears. “You all remember them when you see me, and so do I. Let’s keep our distance. Being strangers is better. Use a messaging app if you need anything.” 

She hung up. She’d always known her brothers resented her, even if they never said it. 

Luke felt a pang of guilt. He’d subconsciously blamed Alice for their parents‘ deaths–for insisting on getting cake. They’d lost their parents that day. 

Noah’s face was

Noah sighed, wiping his eyes. “If I gave my life to Little Sis, would she forgive me?” He wished he could go back. 

His tone turned serious.“Luke, investigate Chloe. Protect Alice.” Since Ethan didn’t believe him, he would find proof. Chloe couldn’t be allowed to remain. 

Alice, remembering Noah’s shocked expression at the café, smiled coldly. Chloe would probably sWindham him to Ethan, who wouldn’t believe him. It was ironic that she hadn’t been there to witness it. It was poetic justice. 

But it wasn’t over. Ethan was protecting Chloe and wanted to control the AI Danielet. She wouldn’t let him. 

The doctor cleared Alice for discharge. She went to see Jack, who was sitting up, eating. 

“How are you?” 

“I’ll be out of ICU soon.” He knew the accident had terrified his family, especially his mother. Luckily, Luke was there to prevent trouble for Alice. 

Jack put down his chopsticks.“Luke called; the laptop and USB drive are gone. The key evidence is lost.” 

“I know. I have other ways.” She knew the Windhams and Chloe well. She used to feel suffocated in the Windham family and had desperately wanted to escape. But now, she wouldn’t hide. 

Chapter 151 

Jack looked at her; she sometimes seemed older than her years.

They talked for a while. Alice stood up. ‘I’ll go handle my discharge and return to school. I’ll see you later.” 

“Don’t bother. I’ll be discharged soon. Don’t worry.” The car had been modified; otherwise, he might have died. He wouldn’t let this go. He had other ways to deal with the Garcia family, event without the evidence. He didn’t want to involve Alice. 

Leaving ICU, she encountered the beautiful woman from the elevator. They both froze. Julia Garcia spoke first.“We meet again. Are you here to see Jack?” 

“Yes. Are you?” Alice wondered about their relationship. 

Julia Garcia smiled. “Yes. Jack’s mother sent me with food. Let’s have dinner when he’s discharged.” 

Alice smiled awkwardly. She watched Julia Garcia leave, her mood fluctuating. What was Jack’s relationship with this woman? 

Should she go check? 

She didn’t have the courage, returning to her room. She felt confused about Jack. 

A nurse approached.“Ms. Alice, your discharge papers are ready.”
