Chapter 169
Alice didn’t think she was “that” famous.
Jack’s eyelid twitched. He grabbed Mo. “This kid publicly challenged your sixth brother, trying to steal you for his team.”
“Oh, right. They had a big online fight.”
Alice looked at Jack.“He called you ‘brother‘? Are you related?”
“Yeah, we’re…ow!”
Mo’s words were cut short by a sharp pinch from Jack. He winced, glaring at Jack.“What was that for?!”
He’d been trying to make a good impression on his future sister–in–law. Why did Jack pinch. him?! Was that polite?!
Alice pointed at the two. You
must be related. You have the same last name.”
Then, Alice remembered something. John Wilson and Jack were related? But John Wilson was a young master from the prestigious Wilson family in Washington!
Alice looked intently at Jack.“Why didn’t you mention your connection to the Wilson family?”
Jack stammered, slightly flustered. “We just share a surname.”
“Yeah, distant relatives. This kid’s my little bro. We met playing games, and then he became close with Jack.”
Garrett arrived, putting an
arm around John Wilson, frantically hinting.
John Wilson, realizing Alice probably didn’t know Jack’s identity, said, “That’s right! Both of them are my brothers!”
Alice looked
at
the three men,
men, saying nothing. All
All three held their breath.
Alice nodded. I didn’t realize you were so close in real life. You never mentioned it.”
“We talked about it. My brother uses my account.”
Alice recalled something. She thought Jack’s account had been hacked. The person claimed to be Jack’s brother, right? It had been a while; her memory was fuzzy.
Realization dawned on Alice. She looked at Mo.“That account was really yours?” “Yep! The real deal!”
Alice’s emotions surged. Could the person from her past life have been John Wilson? Not Jack?
John Wilson sensed something was off.“What’s wrong? I only logged in once; my brother used it
after that.”
“Nothing.”
Alice lowered her head. I’ll be right back. Bathroom.”
She hurried to the restroom, replaying her past encounters with that person in her mind. She’d always assumed it was Jack because their mannerisms and speech were similar. She’d never actually met the person but imagined him to be similar to Jack
But the account belonged to John Wilson.
If she hadn’t met Jack, who would have been using that account?
Alice didn’t dare to think further.
Outside, John Wilson stood under a pillar, hands raised, like a scolded child.
He cautiously looked at Jack. “Brother.”
Jack raised an eyebrow.“Shut up!”
“Brother, I didn’t know she didn’t know! I’m innocent!”
Garrett explained, “Luckily, I came just in time. Little Lemon didn’t suspect anything.” “Brother, weren’t you and Sister–in–Law in a car accident? I saw a scar on her forehead.”
Jack glared at John Wilson, warning him.
won’t say anything! I’ve
anything! I’ve always been tight–lipped!”
haven’t you
blabbed about since we were kids?!”
Mo covered his mouth. I won’t
“Tight–lipped? What
secret
Jack, losing his patience, looked at Garrett. “Don’t let anything slip.”
Garrett nodded. ‘I’ll be careful.”
John Wilson peeked out.“Brother, are you scared? Brother, have some confidence! Let me talk to her…”
Jack’s temples throbbed.
Garrett pulled John Wilson away.“John Wilson, you should leave. Don’t cause trouble.”
This unlucky kid might cause a disaster.
“I haven’t said goodbye to Sister–in–Law yet! I want to make a good impression!”
Jack kicked him.“Get lost!”
“Ow! You missed!”
John Wilson, clutching his backside, ran off.
Jack looked helpless.
Garrett patted Jack’s shoulder. “Why’s this kid back? Oh, right, the finals are at the city stadium. this weekend.”
That explained the kid’s sudden return.
Soon, Alice came out of the restroom..
She looked at the two men.“Where’s John Wilson?”
Jack’s eyelid twitched when she mentioned John Wilson.“He has dinner plans with friends.”
“Oh, I see. You know such amazing people. Why didn’t you say anything when he used your account?”
Faced with Alice’s question, Jack felt like he was on trial.
He pretended to be calm.“He’s amazing? I don’t think so.”
That was arrogant. John Wilson was a promising national team contender – highly talented, from a wealthy family, free from pressure and unfair treatment.
Chapter 169
Alice looked into Jack’s deep eyes. “You’re pretty amazing
games
Garrett quickly changed the subject. Little Lemon, there’s an Al exchange event tomorrow afternoon. Maple Leaf is invited. You should come. I just got the notice
“Sure, I’ll be there.”
Jack said, “I’ll drive you back.”
“No, I already called cab.

Jack watched Alice leave.
It should be here
See you
tomorrow!”
Garrett sighed.“[Little Lemon suspects something, doesn’t she?]”
Jack watched the taxi drive away, his face half–hidden in shadow.
Back in the dorm, Alice lay in bed thinking about John Wilson’s account. Her mind was a
whirlwind.
Many players had the same name. Maybe it wasn’t the same account; she’d just jumped to conclusions.
