Chapter 175
A cold smirk played on Alice’s lips. They wanted to use force?
Typical of Luke’s father. They were the ones who’d done wrong, yet they were forcing her to meet, giving her no choice.
“What are you doing?”
Alice’s colleagues surrounded her, the representative stepping forward. “In broad daylight, are you trying to kidnap someone?”
The secretary’s expression

“She doesn’t want to go. No one can force her. Otherwise, we’ll call the police.”
With so many witnesses, the secretary retreated.
Alice looked at her colleagues.“Thank you.”

We had to protect you.”
Alice watched her colleagues go, feeling much better. Leaving the Windhams behind, she’d encountered normal people.
Alice took a cab back to school.
Upstairs, Jack returned to his office, signing the contract.
Garrett glanced at it.“You’re practically handing her a publicly traded company. That’s a huge investment.”
The AI project was promising. With Jack’s support, once it went public, Alice would become a multi–millionaire partner. She would be only twenty.
“She’s never seen money. What’s a big deal?”
Jack looked at Alice’s signature on the contract; it was elegant. He noticed her distance. Before the accident, Alice had been so dependent on him.
Jack locked the contract in a safe.“Send a lawyer’s letter to the Windham Corporation.”
He hadn’t been at the event, but he knew what had happened. He hadn’t expected Alice to set a trap. She’d grown so much.
Alice went to the gym after returning to the dorm. She was distracted, thinking about Jack’s resignation! He was staying in Cloud City? She’d thought their encounters would be rare after he
left.
Her trainer spoke.“Alice, you’re off today.”
Alice lay on the floor. I’m tired.”
“Let’s end here. Do some warm–ups. No sparring to avoid injury.”
Alice nodded, resting and drinking water. She changed and went to the team base for a meeting. She was the captain now, after all.

Chapter 175
“You already had a meeting?”
“Yes. I knew you were busy this afternoon. The base is in chaos, so we met.” “Thank you. The biggest issue is the Garcias withdrawing sponsorship, right?”
“Yes. Other sponsors also withdrew, probably contacted

Alice wasn’t surprised.
The base was nearly empty. It felt desolate,
Her senior spoke.“Melody Garcia said anyone staying is against her and the Business School!”
Alice smirked. “I’ll solve this. How much money do we need?”
“For the finals, we usually buy tickets for everyone, buy cheering gear, and invite players to meet fans. About a million.”
“Give me the account. Buy the tickets for the weekend.”
Her senior was surprised.“Your own money?”
“Yes. Use a million. I’ll figure out the rest.”
She’d planned to ask Garrett for sponsorship, but she hadn’t had a chance. As a Maple Leaf partner, could she get it now?
After the meeting, Alice decided they needed new recruits!
“Let’s recruit tomorrow!”
Alice texted the lawyer:“[Tomorrow is the deadline!]”
Back in the dorm, she received a message from Jack.
[The gym’s trainer isn’t professional; you’re prone to injury. Let me recommend a better place.]” Alice looked at the message. Their last conversation was days ago, after his discharge. She’d mentioned the gym. They hadn’t spoken since. But he was criticizing her trainer. Alice replied:“[No need. The trainer’s great. He’s a former pro.]”
“[Pro trainers don’t always know how to teach. Can your little body handle a few rounds?]”
Alice could practically see his expression. She replied with an ellipsis. Then turned off her phone.

The next morning, Alice checked her phone first. Jack Yawning, she went to the recruitment booth, attracting a crowd. Fans asked for autographs and photos.
Her senior smiled.“[I should’ve had you here yesterday!]”
