Alice knew Caleh was desperate to cooperate; he couldn’t bear losing his company. For Caleb, having Chloe take over was worse than death. The boomerang had hit him, and he felt the pain. Caleb asked, “What are your terms?” 

“Simple. Transfer all your company shares to me.” 

“Alice, are you crazy?!” Caleb couldn’t believe it.“If I give you my shares, all my efforts will have been for nothing.” 

“Didn’t you say you’d agree to any terms if I didn’t press charges, to make amends?” Alice’s eyes were mocking 

Caleb was momentarily speechless. “But I built this company from the ground up.” “I know, but you can use Big Brother’s shares. You remain a top star, your reputation intact. It’s a win–win.” 

“Alice, you’ve become so greedy!” 

Alice stepped closer, her voice low and menacing.“Greedy? Without the scripts I slaved over, would 

your company even be this successful? This is what I deserve.” Before, she’d only wanted to escape the Windhams. Now? She wasn’t a fool. She’d take what was rightfully hers. 

She turned to leave.“If

“Then you get nothing.” 

“But at least I won’t be ruined. I can find other ways. You won’t have that chance.” Alice’s gaze was sharp; she was betting Caleb couldn’t afford to lose. 

Just a few steps later, Caleb’s voice stopped her.“I accept your terms.” His voice was defeated. 

Alice turned to see the usually arrogant Caleb leaning against a wall, his back slightly bent, a far cry from his former haughty demeanor. He eventually made his 

way to her.“We need to work together to stop Big Brother from controlling my company.” 

“So you don’t want to run a company with your beloved Big Brother anymore?” 

Caleb chuckled bitterly.“Since Big Brother’s so stubborn, I can’t sacrifice myself.” He couldn’t let his life’s work be stolen. Since Ethan was so protective of Chloe, he wouldn’t let his company be a bargaining chip. 

Soon, Caleb’s manager delivered the gala attire. Alice changed, noticing Caleb in a suit, his facial scars hidden behind a mask. At first glance, he looked normal. 

Alice said, “Doing this will only offend Big Brother. Will Third Brother do reconstructive surgery for you?” Third Brother was skilled in surgical procedures. Ethan still held considerable power within the family; money talked. 

“Third Brother isn’t like that. I told him what happened. Not everyone can be easily fooled by Chloe.”

Ethan’s grip tightened on the microphone. “Why did you bring Alice?” 

Brother, you thanked our talented sister, right? I brought her here. Otherwise, who would you have speak after you?” Caleb turned to Chloe on the stage.“Replacing our real sister with a step–sister? That’s inappropriate.” 

He deliberately raised his voice so everyone could hear.
