The butler committed suicide? Alice refused to believe it, heading to the basement where the Windhams were gathered. 

Ethan, standing at the entrance, looked at the hanging butler, his brow furrowed, but a sense of relief washed Over him. Suicide–all the blame would fall on the butler. Noah, seeing Alice arrive, blocked her view. Don’t look. You’ll have nightmares.” Alice’s face was stern.“The butler didn’t commit suicide.” Chloe wouldn’t let him; she’d bought him off. A greedy person like him wouldn’t kill himself. 

Caleb said, “You mean he was murdered?” 

“Impossible,” Ethan immediately refuted. “If it was murder, who did it? Chloe couldn’t do it; don’t try to frame her,”

smirked.“Couldn’t she have hired someone?” Chloe’s backers had acted. Ethan was angry.“She’s an orphan. Where would she find someone capable of murder? Noah agreed.“Big Brother’s right. He probably committed suicide.” 

“Brother, we need to call the police. Someone died. But what excuse should we use?” Ethan pondered.“Say the butler stole valuable items and embezzled money. Last night, he tried to steal from Alice’s room; we caught him, and he committed suicide.” 

Noah nodded. That works. The butler’s accounts were always problematic, but I ignored it.” 

Alice found this laughable. A butler with such poor character had stayed in the Windham family for so long. 

Caleb spoke for Alice. “Second Brother, you knew the butler was untrustworthy. Why keep him?” Noah was uneasy. He’d been with the Windhams for so long. It was difficult to fire him, especially since Chloe was close to him. Who knew he was capable

Chloe rushed in.“Big Brother, did the butler really commit suicide?” 

Ethan stopped her.“Yes, don’t go in. It’s gruesome.”

Ethan pulled Chloe out. He glared at Caleb. “You’re too much.” 

“She wanted to pretend to care; she should get a closer look.” 

Chloe, pale and trembling, was speechless. She’d never seen a corpse before, especially one killed by her father. 

Alice went to the hall. She hadn’t expected Chloe’s father to act so quickly. She messaged the PR team:[“Check the security cameras near the house. That person must have been there.] This was the perfect opportunity.

Ethan said to Alice, “When the police arrive, you and Chloe stick to the story: the butler was stealing, you caught him, and he killed himself. Understood?” 

Chloe nodded obediently. 

Alice raised an eyebrow.“I’ll tell the truth. Why should I keep quiet?” Seeing Chloe’s change of expression, Alice knew she didn’t want this to get bigger. Alice stared at Chloe.“And I think the butler was murdered.” 

“Impossible!” Chloe countered.“He committed suicide out of guilt. No one had a motive. We were all in our rooms. Who would kill him?” 

Ethan disagreed with Alice.“This will damage your reputations.” 

“I don’t care; I didn’t sleep with the butler.” Alice’s malice and sarcasm ignited Chloe’s fury. If the Windhams‘ assets weren’t being emptied, she should have killed Alice last night! Remembering her father’s words, she cried, “Big Brother, I can handle some hardship. But we were in the same room last night. Who will believe Alice is innocent?” 

Caleb snapped,“Chloe, shut up!” 

Alice showed her phone. “I have video evidence. Only you slept with the butler. 

Chloe gritted her teeth.“People won’t believe the evidence.” 

Ethan was stressed.“Alice, what do you want?” 

“Simple: my parents‘ belongings, and your shares in the entertainment company.” This would remove Ethan’s control. 

Ethan gritted his teeth.” Alice, you’re taking advantage of the situation, You got me. Those are my only conditions. Agree, and I’ll cooperate with the police.” 

“Alice, you’re dreaming. I won’t agree.” 

Alice laughed, looking at Chloe.“See? To Big Brother, profit is everything.” Ethan was silent. Chloe panicked, grabbing a fruit knife.“Big Brother, if this gets out, how can I live in San Francisco? I’m always mocked for my background. I’d rather die.” Ethan grabbed the knife.“Chloe, calm down.” 

“Big Brother, let me die. I won’t burden the family or you.”
