Alice’s words drew scornful glances. Max became even more arrogant.“Alice, are you crazy? The evidence is clear, and you’re still making excuses?” Thankfully, the party hadn’t fully started, and the Wilson family hadn’t arrived yet. No one could save Alice. 

Chloe seized the opportunity.“Sister Alice, Miss Garcia isn’t unreasonable. Just admit your mistake, return the bracelet, and maybe you can avoid jail.” 

Max echoed, “Alice, admit you stole it, apologize, and I’ll consider dropping the charges. It’s not appropriate to call the police at Parker’s party.” 

Mrs. Parker frowned at Alice.“Miss Windham, admit it, and I’ll make sure you don’t go to jail, for Mary and your brother’s sake.” 

Max’s friends chanted, “Apologize! Apologize!” 

Alice chuckled, “I didn’t steal Max’s bracelet.” 

“You didn’t steal it, you just found it and wanted to keep it – that’s still stealing!” Max had anticipated this. 

Alice raised an eyebrow.“Max, you and your friends surrounded me and planted the bracelet in my bag to frame me. Are the Garcia family all so dishonest?” 

Max’s composure faltered.“You’re lying! You found my bracelet and refused to return it.” 

Mrs. Parker was displeased.“Alice, you claim innocence. What proof do you have?” 

“Plenty. I never speak without evidence.” Alice’s gaze was cold, specifically targeting Max and Chloe. Chloe flinched; she’d been on the receiving end of Alice’s schemes before. Alice pulled out her phone, projecting onto a nearby screen.“Conveniently, your attempt to frame me was recorded.” 

The screen showed Alice surrounded, her attention diverted. A girl behind her subtly opened Alice’s bag and slipped in the bracelet. The footage was crystal clear. Silence fell. Max’s face drained of color.“Impossible!” Chloe’s face was equally grim; this was supposed to be their chance to crush Alice. Damn it! 

Alice said calmly, “Miss Garcia, what do you say now?” 

Max was speechless. Mrs. Parker was also speechless; Max was incredibly stupid. Alice addressed Mrs. Parker, “Max should apologize to me, or I’ll call the police and get everyone involved!” 

Max, terrified, looked at Chloe, who in turn pointed to the girl.“Why did you steal Max’s bracelet and frame Alice?” 

Max slapped the girl.“Yes, why did you steal my bracelet?” 

The girl, knowing she was the scapegoat, remained silent. 

Mrs. Parker stepped in.“The truth is out. Miss 

Windham is innocent.” 

“Is ‘innocent‘ enough?” Alice challenged Max.“Calling me a thief – is that Garcia family etiquette?” Max was dumbfounded; Alice had a backup plan. 

Mrs. 

Garcia arrived late.“Max, what trouble have you caused this time?”

“Mom, I thought my bracelet was lost. I didn’t know my friend stole it!” Max hid behind her mother. 

Mrs. Garcia turned to Alice. “I’m sorry. Max is impulsive and not very bright.” 

Alice finally saw Mrs. Garcia; she resembled Julia.“Whoever’s at fault should apologize. Max is hiding behind you that’s disrespectful.”

Mrs. Garcia’s brow twitched. This girl was bold. 

Ethan stepped forward.“Enough. It’s clear Alice is innocent; there’s no need to press the issue.” Giving the Mos face would benefit the Windhams. 

Mrs. Garcia ignored Alice, addressing Ethan.“I apologize for the misunderstanding.” “No need to apologize. My sister is a bit… quick–tempered. We’ll handle this privately later. This is Parker’s party; let’s not make a scene.” 

Ethan nodded.“Of course.” 

Alice sneered.“Fine. I’ll wait for your apology.” This wasn’t the main event, she couldn’t waste more time. 

She turned to Mary.“Don’t worry, I’m fine.” 

Mary whispered, “They were so awful.” They’d been so aggressive, but now that the truth was out, they were trying to smooth things over. All because Max had a powerful family? But Alice had nothing, not even her family’s support.

Mary took a deep breath, composing herself. 

Mrs. Parker glanced at Mrs. Garcia.“Excuse me for a moment.” 

Everyone’s attention shifted. Ethan greeted Mrs. Garcia; Chloe eagerly comforted Max, trying to impress Mrs. Garcia. 

Ethan pulled Alice aside.“Apologize to Mrs. Garcia. You were rude.” 

“It’s fine, she’s young. And she was falsely accused; I understand her anger,” Mrs. Garcia said, making Alice seem unreasonable. 

Alice saw through this, saying indifferently,“I’ll call the police tomorrow. I won’t let them get away with falsely accusing me of theft.” She noticed Mrs. Garcia’s expression shift. 

Ethan pulled Alice aside, whispering angrily, “Alice, behave yourself! Humility and building a relationship with the Mos will benefit the Windham family.” This was their first major social event. All it would take is an apology. 

“Alice, can’t you just humble yourself?” Ethan hissed.
