Alice was surprised to see Finn hit Chloe. In her past life, the brothers had doted on Chloe. Finn hitting her meant their affection had conditions. 

Alice saw Chloe’s shocked expression. She said sarcastically, “Fifth Brother, don’t hurt her too badly. It’ll damage the family’s reputation.” 

“She’s our adopted daughter. She eats, drinks, and uses our things. Can’t I discipline her?” Finn glared at Chloe.“Right, Chloe?” 

Chloe, her scalp aching, didn’t dare resist. Seeing Alice watching, she felt humiliated. She had to answer. “Fifth Brother, nothing really happened with Garrett Yates in the restroom. The video made it look like it did, but we hadn’t…” The skirt had obscured the view.

Chloe panicked.“Fifth Brother, you didn’t say that last night!” 

“If you want my forgiveness, you need to please me. Otherwise, you’ll be kicked out, and you won’t get the AI job,” Finn said.

Alice returned to her dorm. Her roommates weren’t awake. She left their breakfast. 

Lana Parker yawned.“I was too excited to sleep last night! I wish I’d seen the white lotus get beaten.” 

“It was for your safety,” Alice said. She and Mary had planned for Lana Parker to leave early to avoid trouble.
