“Elizabeth,” the acidic voice greeted. “How is my stepdaughter doing?”

“Perfectly happy and at peace before you showed up,” I grumbled, remembering the brunette beauty I had lying against me.

“Ah yes, taking full advantage of your new slave.”

“She's not a slave,” I snapped, feeling angry that she would refer to Elise as anything less than a person of her own merit.

“Really?” She mocks, drawing out the y. “It doesn’t look like it from here, forcing the child to stay with you, manipulating her into caring for you and now forcing her to have sex with you.”

“I did not force her,” I argue, even though, in a way, everything that has been said already is partially true.

“She’s wasting away my dear daughter, you can see it for yourself.”

“Only because you are forcing the sleep out of her body.” I feel my anger spike at the memory of Elise’s empty expressions and slumped limbs. “This is your fault!”

“Baby girl, she was being abused way before I paid my visits. Besides I’m only telling her the truth, you can’t deny the fact that she deserves to hear what you plan to do with her after she willingly or unwillingly chooses you.”

“I don’t even know what I want to do with her after she chooses me.”

“Yes you do.” She the voice seaths, filling me with chills and spikes of cold. “You want to trap her with you so she lives out her days alongside you in utter agony that you will inflict on her.”

“That’s not true,” I say but somehow uncertain. I have caused her so much pain already.

“Isn’t it? She is much better off without you in her life, so why not just let her go?”

There was a moment of silence as I contemplated what she'd told me.

“Because…” I try to retort but fail. She’s broken down my confidence and she knows it. This is where my step mother becomes dangerous, I am only half the sadist that she is when someone shows her vulnerability.

“Because you are a selfish, self serving, worthless creature who has to take a girl captive and force her to care for you because you and I both know, no one else will.” She spat sinisterly, her words echoed through my head, creating wounds.
