"I envy Dr. Lane. Byron dotes on her so much," Evelyn teased, not waiting for Cora's response.

Her playful demeanor made it hard to believe she was the same person who had a physical altercation with Cora earlier.

However, Evelyn quickly changed the subject. "I just don't understand. With someone like Byron by her side, why would there be any scandalous rumors about Dr. Lane?"

Before Nora could respond, Margaret interjected, "What scandal?"
