[Arissa’s POV]

A low growl escaped Ivan’s lips as I met his kiss with my own, unable to control myself. Something about the way he was kissing me and touching me sent thrill after thrill through me, and I wanted more. I could feel something in me stirring, but didn’t quite know what it was.

Taking my not fighting him as a sign to continue to move forward, Ivan cupped my ass and lifted, allowing me to straddle his waist with my legs. I didn’t quite get how this was a punishment, but I needed to regain control of my body.

"We can’t," I tried breathlessly as Ivan moved towards the bed. "There’s a dead man on the floor."

"Then he can watch." Ivan growled, throwing me down.

His dark, hungry eyes took me in as I panted. Something about the look on his face and the slight swelling of his lips made my core throb and made me want him more.

"You aren’t going to pretend to resist, now are you?" He challenged.

Leaning down, he placed his hands on either side of me and brought his mouth to mine once more.

Unlike the first kiss that held an uncontrollable hunger, this one held something deeper, an emotion that I didn’t dare touch. This was simply a passion of the moment, and I couldn’t allow myself to have any expectations.

"You smell divine." He husked, nipping at my throat and making his way down to my chest.

Panting, I clutched the sheet beneath me and arched my back, pressing my aching core against his large bulge.

"Is that your way of saying continue?" Ivan asked, sitting up.

Meeting my gaze, he grabbed the hem of my shirt and lifted, leaving my breasts fully exposed.

A shiver of delight rushed through me as he brought his mouth down to one of my erect nipples and began to bite and lick at it while his other hand fondled the other.

"Fuck," I growled, closing my eyes.

I had to be still in heat; that was the only explanation for what was going on here. How else could it be possible that I would allow this man to ravish me as he was? But could I let this continue? If I did, then we would cross the point of no return and I wouldn’t be able to deny him anymore. Also, if we went further, he would discover my shameful secret.

Something about that realization was like a slap in the face, sobering me instantly. Shooting up, I quickly scurried from underneath Ivan, leaving him staring at me in confusion.

"What are you doing?" He asked, beginning to move towards me.

"No," I hissed, holding up my hand. "We can’t."

We couldn’t continue and we couldn’t go further. We were unmatched, and I wouldn’t allow myself to be buried too deeply in false passion and expectations. If this leads to him being angry at me, so be it. Maybe that was for the best.

"Why are you suddenly refusing?" Ivan pushed. Though his tone held an edge, his eyes held a questioning concern that made my heart flop in an odd way.
