Chapter 1530
When Mike left the office, he glanced over his shoulder and saw that Rhea was not leaving. He could not say much because the masked man said nothing.
Feeling the inside of his mouth with the tip of his tongue, a bloody taste assaulted his throat as he left quietly.
After he was gone, Rhea took a step forward.
"Sir, are you truly going to let him off just like that? You know Mike is disloyal and he’s not doing this for the organization..."
"If he’s not, what about you?"
Staring at her coldly, there was mistrust in his eyes.
Rhea pursed her lips.
"At least I share the same goal and direction with you, sir.My mind is fully on the research. It’s a great research project that could change the world, and I would be responsible for its result.Like you, I look forward to it!"
"Oh, yeah?"
Letting out a laugh, he suddenly asked, "Then have you found that thing inside your pen holder?"
Stunned, Rhea did not expect him to know about it as it was a personal matter. But after giving it some thought, she realized that she should not be shocked. She made a scene at the Rollins’ house, and Anastasia was hospitalized after falling down the stairs.
As the man before her knew about almost everything, he could not possibly be ignorant of it.
"I found it."
She lowered her head and answered.
"Found it?"
The man was skeptical.
"Did you truly find it, or were you just saying something nice to fool me?"
"I wouldn’t dare!"
The usually arrogant Rhea kept her head low and lowered her voice to explain, "Actually the thing inside the pen holder was not lost."
"Oh?"
"You're on bad terms with Anastasia, but your parents’ relationship with her seems good.Over the years, your mom has visited the house often for her sake, hasn’t she?" The man said mockingly and paced before her.
He was short, and Rhea was standing, so he looked like a child moving about before her.His husky voice in a mocking tone was so eerie that one would feel a chill down their spine.
"She...they have nothing to do with me!"
Looking away, Rhea said coldly.
"Did you say so because you don’t want to drag your mother into this? Hmm?"
The man suddenly halted in his path and stood before her with both hands behind him.
Looking up at her, he curled his lips slightly.
"You’re worried for her? Hmm?"
"I’m not!" Rhea said stubbornly.
"All they care about is Anastasia, whom they treat as their daughter, and she has always been their favorite.I don’t care about them."
