Daniel sighed as he slowly sat down with his hands on his crutches. "How could this happen?" He turned to look at his grandson and continued, “Don’t you worry, Austin. Your granduncle will cure you, and you will get better.”

"I never made such a promise!" Dominic quickly denied it from the sidelines.

However, Daniel just smiled, not taking Dominic's claim seriously. When they were younger, Daniel would always get irritated by how Dominic responded to things. It would then lead the two to quarrel.

Now that they were a lot older, Daniel had seen through Dominic. He was just a crude but soft-hearted man. Despite what Dominic said, he tied Austin up so he would not hurt himself. It meant that Dominic was not going to give up that easily.

If he genuinely did not care, he would not have rescued Austin from the street in the first place. Why would he bother to call the other three and ask them to rush over?

"What are you smiling at?" Dominic snapped when he noticed Daniel's dazzling smile.

"Dom, after so many years, you still refuse to forgive me for my past mistakes. It doesn't matter. It was my fault, and I've wronged you. I went overboard and was too narrow-minded, so you can shout at me and plot your revenge if you wish!" With a sigh, Daniel said unhurriedly, "Just…don't make things difficult for yourself."

"Me?!" Dominic frowned. "When do I make things difficult for myself?"

"That's good to know. Look at you. You're still the same as when you were a child, always stubborn." Although Daniel was stirred, he still wore a happy smile. His wrinkles scrunched up together as his smile deepened, seemingly to be reminiscing.

"Whether he lives or he dies, that's his fate. I believe in you." Daniel was still repeating the same sentence.

In the end, Dominic could no longer stand it."Okay, okay! I give up! Can you talk like usual now? I can't stand hearing you talk like that."

Austin, lying weakly on the recliner, could not help but smile. If he were the reason the two older men reconciled, this self-inflicted disaster would be worth it.

Just as the atmosphere was about to get awkward, Elijah and Michelle returned. They could not help but take another look at their son's situation.
