Although his wrist pulse was weak, it reflected his true condition. Dominic knew Austin could slowly recuperate from his weak state by drawing out the toxin with the silver needle coupled with the herbal medicine.
“Hmm…” Withdrawing his hand, he nodded. “Not bad indeed.”
Then, Dominic gestured at Austin with his chin. “Take off your clothes.”
Austin was reluctant. Although it was not the first time, Dominic was his granduncle. He was rather shy, and his fingers paused momentarily. Lowering his head, he then slowly unbuttoned his shirt.
“Tsk!” Dominic clucked his tongue. ‘Why is this brat so bashful?!’
Having unbuttoned the shirt, Austin revealed his chest. He had stayed indoors without leaving the house, so his skin had an unhealthy pallor. However, Dominic was glad to see that the outlines of his muscle groups had started to blur.
His muscles, which used to be scary and almost make his skin burst, seemed to have become normal over time, and his skin had gotten looser.
“Uncle Dom, my...” Austin grabbed the wrinkly patch of skin on his chest out of confusion, and when he let go, it sagged horribly once more.
“It’s normal!” Dominic spoke calmly, as if his grandnephew were overreacting. “You’ve studied medicine, after all. Don’t you know that the skin would loosen if someone put on weight and then slimmed down suddenly? It’s the same principle!”
“But I was affected by the drug!” Austin couldn't help but express how repulsed he was by his own body.
He at least looked refined and elegant with a well-proportioned and upright body, but he could not stand his skin.
In spite of the fact that every drug has its own effect on human bodies, he was unable to recognize it. He was curious to know what it was.
‘What a pity! Now that the autopsy report has confirmed that the deceased is her, I would never find out about it. I wonder how Lily is doing lately? She fetched Galen and left me alone with a sick man I needed to take care of. How boring!’
Letting out a sigh, he shook his head and went away. Austin, however, gazed after him in a daze.
‘Rhea is dead? For real?’
Even though he had been hearing about the news for the past two days, he was having trouble processing it. He felt as though a bone was lodged in his throat, and he was unable to spit it out.
