However, at this moment, the short figure seemed to realize this and quickly turned around.

"How was it this time?" His voice was sharp and piercing.

His sudden turn made the shadow stop, and their hand hung mid-air. After a pause, the shadow replied, "It has improved from the last time."

"Hmph!" After snorting twice, the short man laughed. "You say that every time, but I haven't seen an improvement until today. Sometimes, I wonder if my illness is too hard to cure or if you’re just too stupid!"

The dark shadow did not try to defend themselves when laughed at so rudely. Instead, they just lowered their head.

Glancing at the shadow coldly, the man turned around and shrugged off his cloth, exposing one arm. "There!"

The man snorted as the black shadow stepped forward to disinfect his arm before sticking the needle in.

As the liquid was injected into the man's body, he kept a calm, slightly frowning face. A second later, the syringe was pulled out.

"Huff…" He sighed with relief, stood up, and put his sleeves back on without any haste.

Seeing the black shadow turn around to pack their things, the man sat back in his chair and curled up his lips. "Lily will be coming here tomorrow morning to join us in the department! Are you afraid?"

"The reason why it didn't spread in Hyderland is that it’s kept under control. The news spread quickly, and not much panic happened. To attribute all this to Lily is to think too highly of her." The shadow hummed, very disdainful.

"Indeed, it's not entirely her, but she did find a way to counter the virus you've been developing for years in just over a month. Isn't that right?" The man leaned back and rested his hands on the armrest. Then, he sighed and said, "The organization did think of keeping you, but your performance has been too disappointing.

“The integration is not good enough, and the latest version is still unsuccessful. Up until now, I've been taking the bullets for you. You even had to fake your death to get out. Tell me, why should the organization keep you? How will you convince me that you're better than Lily?"

After a pause, his eyes fluttered, and he looked at her gloomy face. "Isn't that right, Rhea?"

In the halo of yellow light, Rhea looked sinister and strange.
